The IDF has killed starving Palestinian civilians trying to get aid. Settler terrorism and talk of imposing the illegal E1 settlement plan are flagrant attempts to prevent a Palestinian state. There is no justification for this. A two-state solution is the only path to peace.

The Knesset is considering legislation forbidding contact between the Israeli state and UNRWA. Without UNRWA, life-saving aid to Palestinian refugees would be severely hampered, if not impossible. We urge the Israeli Government to keep UNRWA’s ability to work untouched.

Israel has blocked aid from entering Gaza for over two months. Gazans are at risk of starvation. International law requires Israel to allow aid to get to civilians. Gaza is no exception to this rule. All European members of the Security Council call on Israel to let aid in now.

The UK is appalled by the Israeli strikes on al-Tabeen school. Palestinians have nowhere safe to turn. 86% of Gaza is under evacuation orders. Families have been repeatedly forced to move, with minimal notice given by Israel, to places that do not offer the safety they need.

The UK voted yes on today’s Security Council resolution on Gaza. The draft called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza; an immediate release of all hostages; a huge scale-up in aid access; and the protection of civilians. We will keep striving to bring this war to a close.

The UK voted for today's resolution because Israel’s block on aid into Gaza needs to end. Israel's new system is not working. Palestinians have been killed as they try to reach the very few aid sites that Israel has permitted. It is inhumane. Israel must let the United Nations save lives.

We are deeply concerned by the recent M23 and Rwandan Defence Forces advances in eastern DRC. Their advance risks a humanitarian catastrophe in Goma, and has cost the lives of UN peacekeepers. These attacks must stop. Rwanda and DRC must return to the negotiating table.
