Machakos People’s Park has always been a vibrant venue for events that bring people together while creating opportunities for our local businesses. From the annual Vuka Festival to other major events, the park continues to play an important role in supporting traders, suppliers, creatives, and other businesses. The required maintenance and upkeep at the People’s Park have always been undertaken to ensure the facility remains in good condition and continues serving the people of Machakos. Let politicians not mislead the public with falsehoods, malice, and political propaganda. The facts speak for themselves. Our focus remains on creating opportunities, supporting local businesses, and delivering for the people of Machakos.

The director of Movata Designs, Maureen Mwende Mutua, visited my residence today accompanied by her parents to discuss on her payments. The biggest challenge we face is from the UDA-allied MCAs, who have deliberately sworn to punish the people of Machakos by frustrating service delivery. However, I will not tire of inviting them to dialogue. We must sit together, reason together and put the interests of our people above political differences.

As we continue to encourage residents to register for the Social Health Authority (SHA), I also call upon the National Government to remit SHA funds owed to County Governments without delay. This will enable counties to effectively plan, strengthen healthcare delivery, and ensure uninterrupted provision of quality and affordable medical services to our people.

All 86 staff members set to retire in 2025 will be promoted with immediate effect, while 916 employees whose promotions have been delayed for seven years or more will be promoted effective July 1st, 2025. I am deeply committed to the welfare of our staff and recognize that their dedication is the backbone of our county's success.

I am ready to dialogue with Machakos Gen Zs. I know many of them are jobless and the economy is not favourable. It's sad that some politicians have been ferrying young people from outside Machakos to cause chaos and destruction. I urge all youths in Machakos to maintain peace even as they agitate for their rights and not to accept any invitation to engage in criminal activities.

There is an evil wave sweeping across this country and its largely targeting women leaders. Myself and my fellow women governors; H.E Gladys Wanga, H.E Susan Kihika, H.E Cecily Mbarire are victims of these attacks. We will not be silenced, we will not retreat because we stand for change, we stand for progress and we stand for a better future for our people. There is also an alarming trend of femicide that is stripping women of their most basic right - the right to live. Let me remind everyone in this country that life is sacred and people’s lives belong to them and no one has the right to take them.
