2nd Amendment activist and YouTuber Luis Antonio Johnson was shot multiple times by Denver police just minutes after he shot another man during an apparent act of self-defense in downtown Denver. The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on May 3, 2026, near the 16th Street Mall. Civilian footage recorded by the 27-year-old man who was shot appears to show him pursuing and threatening Johnson before Johnson opened fire. Johnson then ran to the vestibule of his nearby apartment building while still holding his handgun. Officers responding to the original gunfire were directed toward him by witnesses who identified him as the shooter. Police bodycam footage shows officers repeatedly ordering Johnson to drop the gun. As he turned toward them, two officers fired nine rounds combined, striking him multiple times. Some viewers believe the weapon was pointed downward or being lowered when the shots were fired. Both Johnson and the 27-year-old man survived. Johnson was initially charged with felony assault, but the serious charge was reportedly reduced after investigators reviewed the civilian footage and circumstances surrounding the first shooting. The Denver District Attorney later determined the officers reasonably believed Johnson posed an immediate threat and cleared them of criminal wrongdoing. The case shows how quickly a person who may have legally defended himself can still be mistaken for the aggressor when police arrive. Florida man Kamal Padlowski was convicted of first-degree murder after marina surveillance video showed him dragging 47-year-old Melvin Montero Jimenez by the ankles and putting him into the water after Jimenez fell motionless during a confrontation. The two men were strangers who reportedly met while drinking at Sunset Grill near Little Harbor Marinas in Ruskin, Florida, on May 25, 2024. They later continued drinking aboard Padlowski’s boat before an altercation spilled onto the dock. Padlowski claimed Jimenez threatened him and his fiancée, punched him and refused to leave. He argued that he acted in self-defense and believed Jimenez was still alive when he moved him into the water. Prosecutors said Jimenez was already unconscious and no longer posed a threat when Padlowski dragged him off the dock instead of calling for help. The footage also showed Padlowski throwing Jimenez’s flip-flops into the water afterward. Jimenez was later recovered from the marina and pronounced dead. A Hillsborough County jury reached its verdict after deliberating for less than three hours following a three-day trial. Padlowski’s sentencing is scheduled for August 17, 2026. He faces up to life in prison.

New footage shows what appears to have started the altercation involving Kick streamer Clavicular in Miami Beach. The clip begins inside the venue, where Clavicular is seen slapping a man during a confrontation. The situation then spills outside, where an older man takes the shirtless streamer to the ground, restrains him in a headlock and repeatedly yells “citizen’s arrest.” Clavicular’s friend Drago eventually jumps in to free him, triggering a chaotic multi-person struggle that continues until police arrive and break it up. No charges were reportedly filed.

🚨 RACINE, WI: A woman survived after police say her ex-boyfriend, 23-year-old Luke Greuel, shot her and followed her as she fled to an auto shop for help. Police allege the attack continued inside, where she was pistol-whipped and stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. Police say officers approached him after reports of someone checking parked vehicles. He allegedly fled on a bicycle before officers encountered him again in the intersection. Bystander footage shows four officers struggling with him on the ground. MPD says he pulled a knife, cut an officer and continued resisting after a Taser failed. The injured officer then fired three shots. The man later died at the hospital. All four officers were placed on administrative leave, and Wisconsin DOJ is leading the independent investigation. WAS COREY RUIZ EXECUTED? Corey Durell Ruiz, 38, described by community accounts as a father, was fatally shot by a Madison police officer during a daytime arrest struggle at Williamson and South Baldwin Streets on July 22. Madison police say officers were responding to reports of someone stealing bicycles and checking vehicle doors. Ruiz allegedly rode away on a bicycle before officers encountered him again around 1:34 p.m. Police say he was pulled or fell from the bike, produced a fixed-blade knife and injured an officer during the struggle. Bystander footage shows four officers surrounding Ruiz in the intersection. An officer can be heard warning “Taser” before the device was deployed. Moments later, one officer fired three shots at close range. Police say the Taser was ineffective and that the officer who fired was the same veteran officer allegedly injured by the knife. Ruiz was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Some witnesses say they did not see Ruiz holding a weapon during the portion of the confrontation they observed. Social-media accounts also allege that the three shots struck Ruiz in the head, but the location of his wounds has not been officially confirmed through an autopsy report or investigative findings. Activist accounts are identifying Officer Kiel Baitinger-Peterson as the shooter. City of Madison records confirm that an MPD officer with that name was appointed to the department, but Madison police and Wisconsin DOJ have not officially identified the officer who fired. Authorities have only described him as a veteran officer. Madison did not have department-wide body-worn cameras deployed to patrol officers at the time, meaning there is no conventional officer bodycam angle available. Police say additional video that has not circulated publicly is being reviewed. All four involved officers were placed on administrative leave. Wisconsin DOJ’s Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the independent investigation. The shooting triggered protests, a candlelight vigil and the cancellation of Concerts on the Square after demonstrators occupied the stage. Early social-media posts also described Ruiz as Black. Wisconsin DOC records shown afterward list him as White and Hispanic or Latino.
