MTV wanted Nirvana to do an encore after this song was over, but Cobain refused, saying that he sucked and that the whole band sounded terrible. He'd thought the performance was a bomb because the audience was so quiet, not realizing that it was so quiet because they were blown away Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Unplugged 1993) ▶️

Written during a black out in New York, while he was dating Joan Baez, but was falling in love with his first wife, Sara. This is one of Dylan’s most beloved, debated and surreal epics yet it all boils down to one simple truth: he misses Johanna. Bob Dylan - Visions of Johanna (1966) ▶️

Bono.. "'Bad' was very difficult to do, almost an impossible collision of cultures for us. It was a different kind of songwriting, like Philip Glass meets Astral Weeks, Van Morrison crossed with German electronica. You have sequences which are rigid and metronomic and then you have a bass which is improvising all the way, and the voice too" U2 - Bad (Paris 1987) ▶️

Paul was sitting at a bus shelter waiting for John Lennon to meet him on Penny Lane, a street near their houses in Liverpool, While sitting there Paul jotted down the things he saw, including a barber's shop with pictures of its clients and a nurse selling poppies for Remembrance Day. written by Lowe and Gomm, Lowe only grudgingly recorded it, and he considered it an aberration - a pop sell-out song. When he performed the song on The David Letterman Show, he called it "wimpy" and had little interest in discussing it. even though it turned out to be his biggest hit Nick Lowe - Cruel To Be Kind (Letterman 1983) ▶️
