Starting with iOS 27, we can actually convert a tab bar to a sidebar. A new modifier was introduced to do this. “.defaultTabBarPlacement(.sidebar)” As of current testing, this seems to work on iPhones as well when the app is in landscape mode. This is the same behavior used in the iPhone Health app, where the tab bar converts into a sidebar in landscape mode!

On iOS 26, you can now directly apply the matchedTransitionSource modifier to any ToolBarItems. Furthermore, presentation detents are also compatible with Zoom Transitions. (However, on iOS 18, presentationDetents will have no effect and will result in a full-screen cover behavior.) Eg: ToolBarItem {} . matchedTransitionSource(…)

Currently, there’s no way to adjust the size of the progress bar. However, by using the scale and other modifiers, we can create a progress bar that is similar to the iOS Volume slider! I recently discovered that the SwiftUI EnvironmentValues infant contains Device Corner Radius value, but it’s not available for use. However, we can easily extract those values using a simple String Regex. With this information, we can basically Backport the ConcentricRectangle shape for older iOS versions as well. For More, check out this video. NOTE: I tested this even with iOS 16, and the value is indeed present. It’s possible that it’s available for even older versions, but I haven’t tested it yet.
