Biometric voting systems are extremely expensive to acquire and maintain. Ugandans have heavily invested in the 2026 general elections. The The Electoral Commission - Uganda has received budgets each year for the past 5 years to plan for this election. Information from different districts in the country is coming in exposing technical failures, power shortages and system crashes a few hours after voting has kicked off. This exposes fears Ugandans have had on the readiness of the Commission to conduct a free, fair and transparent election in 2026. Ugandans deserve full accountability for the entire electoral process. #UgandaDecides2026

Thank you, International Community of Banyakigezi (ICOB) for hosting this intense intergenerational dialogue between Kigezi’s youth and elders. We are reminded that we carry a unique energy to stir this country in the right direction. We are playing this role despite a political environment heavily marred by violence and suppression of political dissent. We demanded the release of our fellow Banyakigezi rtd. Col. Kizza Besigye (Kifefe Kizza-Besigye) and MUGUMYA SAM. We called upon our elders to work with us towards pushing for the freedom of our freedom fighters. We continue to play our role towards peaceful, fair and free elections in Uganda. We demand the State and our leaders to do the same. #UgandaDecides2026
