Mosaic has raised a $3.8M seed round to build video editing agents. What started as a side project to edit our own YouTube videos has quickly turned into something much bigger. Today, global agencies, platforms, and news networks rely on our AI video editing workflows to scale content production. I am especially excited to announce our partnerships with: 1. TubeScience: Meta's largest ad creative partner, 8K videos a month, 100M views a day, $2B annual spend. 2. News Corp: one of the world's largest media organizations, operating businesses like The Sun, TalkSport, Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, HarperCollins, The Times, and more. We are proud to be backed by top class Silicon Valley investors, like Y Combinator, Mayfield, Elevation Capital, Pioneer, Transpose Platform, twenty two ventures, Script Capital, Phosphor Capital, Amino Capital, Olive Asset Management, FOG Ventures, DCG, and angels from Y Combinator, OpenAI, Google DeepMind. Special shout-out to Garry Tan, Harj Taggar, and Tyler Bosmeny for being our partners through YC and beyond. The funds from this round will be used to add a few more people to our lean team in San Francisco and continue research & development on the frontier of multimodal AI and agentic video editing. I'm incredibly grateful to the entire Mosaic team for all the hard work each and every one of you do. I am so pumped for what is ahead. Follow along our journey Mosaic and read more about the announcement at mosaic [dot] so.

Yesterday, we launched our API. Today, we introduce a redesigned platform interface to go with it. Watching Posthog sessions is a painful necessity. Seeing users sign up, click around, get confused, and leave has been a flow we’ve seen all too often. With Mosaic, we set out to redesign the video editing interface from first principles. But conveying what a new interface does & doesn’t do intuitively isn’t so easy. That’s why today, we introduce a redesigned platform interface that changes a user’s experience completely. From when you first sign in to how you navigate our documentation — everything has been rethought. Some of my favorite new features: > Cmd + K to Navigate & Search from anywhere > More Editing Workflow Templates > More Motion Graphics Styles / Templates > More Canvas Presets & Usability Improvements > Automations / API > Organizations & Workspaces > Revamped Pricing page Check it out out edit .mosaic .so and let me know where you think product friction still exists. I’ll be watching on Posthog ;) More on all the new features below 🧵

Today, we're launching Mosaic Canvas. Think Gumloop, but for video editing. With Canvas, you can now create and run your own video editing agents. Agents run video edits completely on autopilot, and can branch to create multiple variants from a single video. We're rethinking the traditional non-linear video editor. Learn more about the new paradigm and signup for the rolling waitlist:

Last week, Mosaic won 1st place in the AI demo competition at SaaStr Annual — beating out hundreds of other AI startups in one of the world's largest software conferences. Beyond the prizes that come with winning, presenting at SaaStr was a high visibility opportunity that put us in front of a lot of people who are interested in leveraging Mosaic for business marketing and content creation use cases. Huge thanks to Jason ✨👾SaaStr.Ai✨ Lemkin, Amelia Ibarra, Navin Chaddha, Mayfield and the entire SaaStr.ai team for organizing this awesome event. Special shoutout to Y Combinator for getting us booths in SaaStr's YC pavilion and to Garry Tan for being the face of our demo — people love hearing you in Spanish & French :) If you're interested to see what Mosaic's agentic video editing is capable of, we are opening up wider access to our Beta starting today: usemosaic [dot] ai

we took the latest Lightcone Podcast about co-founder conflict and ran it through the Mosaic video editing agent. the agent pulled out some very interesting shorts from the 45-minute podcast, including: 1. the moment Jared Friedman talks about the origins of the name Scribd and how hard it was to decide on a name 2. the moment Garry Tan talks about your body keeping score 3. the moment Diana and Harj Taggar talk about not crossing the net it then removed silences, reframed each of these moments to support both 16:9 and 9:16 aspect ratios while focusing on the active speaker, and added dynamic captions. this was a great episode by the Y Combinator partners and taught me a lot about managing co-founder relationships. my personal favorite moment was when Garry talks about "game recognizing game". check out the full agent run which includes the full episode and all the different shorts Mosaic created:
