This evening's full deluge test from Pad 2 filmed in 120fps. Interesting note: the hold down clamp doors on the launch mount were still open at the time of top deck activation. Either that lets us know the booster will still be firmly in place upon activation or this was unique to this test in particular as they have remained closed for most, if not all other tests involving the top deck. 📸 - NSF - NASASpaceflight.com 📺 -

Tracking footage from this morning's launch of ULA's Vulcan rocket & the USSF-87 mission for United States Space Force - filmed from a perspective 3.9 miles to the west of SLC-41. SRM nozzle burn through plainly visible on the right-hand side of the vehicle, protruding in the direction of the twin BE-4 engines on the core booster. As alarming as this was, it's promising to see that the vehicle held a nominal trajectory as the flight progressed, per ULA's latest update. Standing by for additional word. 📸 - NSF - NASASpaceflight.com Live Coverage Replay -

(HEADPHONE WARNING) Come take a seat inside the gates of Launch Complex 39B to watch & listen as SLS and her crew of four take to the skies, destined for the moon on the Artemis II mission. Lots to break down in the audio - from the HPU's chuffing away, the ROFI's popping, and the poor microphone taking the acoustic brunt of four RS-25 engines and a pair of five-segment solid rocket boosters. Come check it! 📸 - NSF - NASASpaceflight.com

The reality of trying to record Starship Update in rainy season.

Eager to learn what happened with Ship 35 tonight. 30s fire was impressive but the behavior in the engine section not long before shutdown did not appear normal. Ship 35 has received a lot of TLC in previous weeks so there undoubtedly has been significant changes internally compared to earlier ships… but oof. Just an observation and could be dead wrong. We’ll have to wait & see.

Quick highlight snippet from yesterday morning's launch of Atlas V and Kuiper KA-03 from our tracking cameras, stationed 3.9 miles away from SLC-41. The 551 variant of the Atlas V is one of the quickest-accelerating launch vehicles out of the Cape—throw in a rather pronounced gravity turn and vapor cones at transonic speeds, and you have a visual feast. 📸 - NSF - NASASpaceflight.com

It has been an incredibly valuable day for the spaceflight industry here in the United States - brand new vehicles flown and copious amounts of data gathered all around for the teams at Blue Origin and SpaceX. The day began here on the Space Coast of Florida where New Glenn took flight for the first time from LC-36. This footage was taken from a remote camera I had placed southwest of the pad - the first 40 seconds are played back in real time, the remainder is played at 25% speed. I have overlayed the audio from where D Wise and I watched from the Jetty Park pier, next to a group of employees from Blue... their enthusiasm speaks for itself. The human element of spaceflight is unparalleled. 📸 - NSF - NASASpaceflight.com 👓 - Jeff Bezos Dave Limp
