While there's likely truth to this, I also believe there's a smart way to go about it. My game is probably considered a small "open world", but it's broken up into islands, a lot less work than trying to populate a singular land mass. Meaning I can focus on what matters most.

Building on the "no inventory" idea, here's a little proof of concept of how it could look, where collected ressources can be moved and stacked together before being put in the main "container" for that specific type of ressource. All feedback is welcome 😊 #GodotEngine
