An apology without changed behaviour doesn’t remove the wound. Love does not neutralise repeated harm. That’s why toxic relationships can be so confusing. The sweetness makes you question the poison. But healing begins when you stop asking whether there was love… And start asking whether the relationship was safe. Because something can contain beautiful moments and still be damaging to you.
