Tata Motors after-sales service experience after spending more than 5 years with the Safari. I have rarely commented on this experience because I initially felt it was too good to be true. However, after spending so much time and gauging the kind of service they offer, here’s my take after the recent service experience. People are always skeptical about the after-sales service of Tata Motors and I was too. The Tata Safari Storme was on my dream car list and I had no option but to embrace the fact that I would have to deal with shabby services and the constant niggles of Tata cars — or at least that’s what the perception was. I get my servicing done regularly at a specific service center and always with the same service advisor. What I like: 👍 They are always warm and welcoming. 👍 They listen to your concerns and whatever you need to get done. 👍 They do a proper checkup while making the job card. 👍 They always mention all the services they will perform and ask if you don’t want any additional services. 👍 If they find anything wrong, they call and ask for permission to work on it. 👍 At times, they proactively improve things even if you don’t mention it. In my case, they tightened up the handbrake and smoothened the gearbox without me even complaining about it. 👍 They provide regular updates personally on WhatsApp by sending pictures and videos of the work being done. 👍 Service costs are quite reasonable, even though the Safari Storme was discontinued 5 years ago. They also offer additional discounts if you negotiate properly. 👍 90% of the time, I have received my car the same day. This time I gave the car for servicing post-afternoon, so they had to deliver it the next day. 👍 After servicing, they take proper feedback through a form and a call from the service center. What I don’t like: 👎 There are long queues to deal with if you don’t take a prior appointment. 👎 They don’t properly wash the exterior and interior. 👎 The polish they use after the service for the interior smells weird and has a sticky texture. Overall, it has always been a pleasant experience, and thank God I have never had any absurd issues with the car or the service center over the past 5 years.
