In Nevada, we are trying to hang on to our health care, our Social Security, our public school funding … and Governor Lombardo is mocking us for it. He’s not fighting for us — he’s working for Trump. For the billionaires. For the ones who will never have to worry about reconciling their budget at the end of the month, about paying rent, or about affording a trip to the doctor. Lombardo says we need to “feel pain”? He and Trump are clearly doing everything they can to ensure just that.

If it passes: - Up to nearly 400,000 Nevadans could lose Medicaid coverage. - We’d lose $3B in health care spending, jeopardizing our entire state budget. - More than 500,000 Nevadans who rely on SNAP benefits would see their benefits slashed. - 2 of our rural hospitals could be forced to close or drastically reduce services. - Nursing homes will be in danger of closing, leaving seniors with nowhere to go and no one to care for them.

Let me be clear: My job is to be a shield for Nevadans — to stand up for the people of the Silver State and push back against any unlawful or unconstitutional overreach that threatens our fundamental rights. Before I take on anything, I always ask: how would winning this actually make life better for Nevadans — for families like yours and mine? If the math adds up, I go for it. No nonsense. Because if it’s bad for us in Nevada, I’m standing up to it.

Trump’s move puts millions of kids at risk – from kids who have every advantage and who happen to attend their local public school to kids who rely on financial aid, kids with disabilities, and kids in underfunded schools. This isn’t about improving education. It’s about gutting it. I believe in public education because I lived it. We must ensure we stop this. Stay tuned.
