🚨 Urgent Venezuela Earthquake Update 🚨 Venezuela has been hit by two very large earthquakes within about one minute. A M7.2 near San Felipe was followed seconds later by a M7.5 near Yumare at a very shallow depth of 10 km. USGS impact data is now showing RED PAGER and violent intensity IX shaking, with Puerto Cabello, San Felipe, Valencia, Maracay, Barquisimeto and other major population centres inside the exposed zone. Reports and videos coming out of Venezuela show serious damage, with collapsed buildings reported in parts of Caracas, including Altamira and Palos Grandes. This is a major disaster situation. 🌋 The Child Of Krakatau Is Restless Again 🌋 Indonesia has issued fresh warnings after rising signs were detected at Anak Krakatau, the volcanic island born from the ruins of the 1883 Krakatau disaster. Gas, heat, crater glow and shallow volcanic earthquakes are now being reported around a volcano with a deadly history. In 1883, Krakatau’s eruption and tsunamis killed more than 36,000 people. In 2018, Anak Krakatau’s flank collapse triggered another deadly tsunami across the Sunda Strait.
