Over the course of this campaign, I’ve come to realize that the voices with the most weight are those who are most affected, those who are spending their time advocating for family members and friends deserving justice. They have no ulterior motives, only hope. I’m incredibly humbled that so many of those for whom the stakes are the highest are supporting my positive vision for the future. They know that as District Attorney I’ll fight day in and day out for victims and their families, but please hear it from them. Let’s build the DA’s office Norfolk County deserves. On June 4, the media across Massachusetts broke news regarding text messages sent by a member of the State Police Detective Unit under the supervision of the Norfolk County District Attorney. In a word, the text messages are horrifying: the most racist, misogynistic, bigoted, antisemitic messages I’ve ever seen. That afternoon, I officially called on Michael Morrissey, the current District Attorney, to resign effective immediately. The DA bears responsibility for the failure in leadership and supervision that this news exposed, and this is exactly why I’m running to be the next Norfolk County DA.
