Conversely, what sense does it make to fire a coach who didn’t have the resources to really win? I don’t understand the institutional logic of a university that can’t raise the funds necessary to really compete, and responds by opting to pay two different coaches…

Scouting Davion Thompson: ▪️Tough shot-maker ▪️Skilled & crafty creator ▪️Elite footwork ▪️On/off ball versatility ▪️Underrated on ball defender 9pm ET announcement:

Here at Overtime Elite Combine, where Bryson Tiller is doing an individual workout to start the day. Improved floor-spacing ability has been a point of emphasis.

Lewis Uvwo and Reese Alston, two of the top ten prospects in the country, will be announcing their college commits on Wednesday and Thursday, live with 247Sports on CBS Sports HQ

Who spent their money well this off-season? Isaac Trotter says it wasn’t UNC 👀🔨⬇️

Christian Anderson going 8 for 8 to start the star shooting drill. Effortless release.

Scouting Devin Cleveland: ▪️Tough shot-taker & maker ▪️Extreme gravity (47% 3pt as a jr) ▪️Secondary playmaker ▪️Advanced left hand ▪️Deceptively efficient finisher ▪️Upside as he fills out 7pm ET announcement:

Colton Hiller recently turned 16 years old. That makes him a year younger than AJ Williams and closer to two years younger than Yann Kamagate. Here’s more on how the No. 3 ranked prospect in the national class of 2028 could keep climbing.

From this week’s show: What we’ve heard and what we’ve seen first-hand from Tyran Stokes this summer. 📺

Flory Bidunga is the No. 29 ranked prospect on the CBS Sports NBA Draft Big Board. This year, that equated to a 2.3 million contract. However, he’s commanding more the twice that in the transfer portal. Here’s more on how he’s set the big man market.

Other bigs with huge stay/go decisions: Aday Mara & Morez Johnson, Michigan Motiejus Krivas, Arizona Patrick Ngongba, Duke Henri Veesaar, UNC Bottom line - Bidunga’s valuation will have ripple effects across the biggest programs in college basketball.

If tampering means directly contacting a player in another program before he’s in the portal…almost no one is foolish enough to do it. If it means having constant communication with players’ reps through the year, then virtually everyone is doing it. 📺

There have been a lot of Darryn Peterson takes in the last few days. Most of the uninformed clickbait. Michael Swain has covered Kansas all season and joined the show yesterday to talk about what he’s seen. 📺

Here’s the moment where Cayden Daughtry’s teammates start chanting MVP about 30 seconds after the final horn sounded. I’d never seen that before.

What to know about LSU: 1. Their frontcourt is good & could be great 2. Their backcourt will depend on the courts…because they’re going to court 3. If they win (twice, because there will be an appeal) it will forever change college hoops (again). 📺

Now that both Josh Schertz and Bryan Hodgson have essentially/reportedly turned down Syracuse, here’s a look back at what I said about the job on last week’s show. 📺

Our latest mock is now live on CBS and while I continue to believe our top 8 reflects the best guess of most in the market, there’s has been plenty of movement beyond that following the combine. 📝 📺

Yann Kamagate is up to the No. 2 overall spot in 2028. There are two questions for the coming months: Can he get to No. 1? What class will he end up in? 📺

From Braylon Mullins’ commitment day: “You can not overemphasize just how deep his range is.”

Summer highlights of Tre Keith, who committed to BC last night: He was one of the players that really popped when we went back to watch all the film and dig into the numbers from the grassroots season.

What happens to prep school basketball with the NCAA’s new age-based eligibility model? 📺

Scouting Kevin Savage: ▪️Lefty PG balances scoring/distributing ▪️Wealth of competitive intangibles ▪️Strong with ball, advanced right hand ▪️Vision, good passer off the dribble ▪️Likes his pull-up (high release) 5pm CBS Sports HQ announcement:

Everything you need to know about the NCAA’s new age-based eligibility rules. What it means for: Current high school prospects (not good); International prospects (not good); Current college players ($). Roster construction in the 27/28 cycle ⬇️ 📺
