Our foreign service is supposed to transcend administrations. That's why we have career officials to maintain the continuity of American diplomacy regardless of who is in the White House. The State Department's reported move to withhold promotions from applicants who didn't vote for Trump only makes us less safe. And it's against the law.

Donald Trump hasn't even gotten to Election Day, and his administration is already trying to stop a state from certifying a result. Here's what we know. The Justice Department has sued Alaska, asking state officials to block certification of its Senate race if Republican Dan Sullivan loses under certain circumstances involving another candidate with a similar name. The state courts have already allowed that other candidate to remain on the ballot. I don't want to jump to conclusions about where this ends. But this could be the beginning of the administration's effort to meddle in the midterms and we need to pay attention.

DHS agents took 12 minutes to decide if you're a citizen. A federal judge just shut that down. Now they can't interview anyone they know or should suspect is a citizen. The point was never fraud. It was fear, and to make you afraid to vote ahead of a midterms that Trump knows he's going to lose.

JD Vance has no shame, we know that, but he stooped to a new low when he stood in front of a national audience and claimed he's not seen any corruption out of this White House. Reuters is reporting that Trump called off Ukraine's Starshield technology, and while the White House denies this, Elon Musk took to social media to call Trump out on it. Musk stated that the capabilities for such a decision ultimately land with POTUS, undercutting the story sold by the White House, and reminding us all that Trump continues to fall absurdly short in the support Ukraine needs from this administration. The White House is hiding a report about your taxes until after you vote. Every year the IRS publishes data showing what people at every income level deducted and what they owed. This yearโs version is the first real look at the big Republican tax law from 2025. It was supposed to come out in July. Then September. Itโs now the middle of October. Thereโs a reason nobody is at the 50 state fair in DC, and a reason itโs worth pointing out.
