Something I've started doing lately is moving all of my styles to the root element. This keeps all of the styling in one place, and keeps the rest of my code super clean ✨ 😏

Spent the last 2.5 hours on my hands and knees smoothing out every connection in the interlocking rubber floor tiles in my gym with a tiny screwdriver. Even in the age of AI it’s still satisfying to do the brainless tedious work yourself sometimes.

Today we shipped a big rebrand that's been in the works for way too long — Tailwind UI is now Tailwind Plus ✨ Still one-time purchase, still the same price, just a new name with new possibilities.

✨ Fully declarative, HTML-driven command palette, with no custom JS, and no framework. Works everywhere, no matter how you like to build your apps. Just one small part of a big release coming this week 🫣

Sneak peek at some stuff 🫣 This is our local development environment where we can compare what the models generate by default to what they generate with our opinions layered in. So much more to do, but already obvious improvements from just focusing on little details like hanging punctuation, card content alignment, lighting/elevation cues, and edge highlighting of avatars.

Quick demo of this CSS-driven configuration coming in Tailwind CSS v4 — creating a new `font-comic` utility by just creating a new CSS variable under our new `@theme` directive. No JS configuration file, all the same theme customization flexibility 🤩

Saw Sam Selikoff and Ryan Toronto launched a $149 lifetime pricing option for Build UI and immediately grabbed myself an account 💪 Super underrated pricing model for content businesses in my opinion — going to do a whole podcast episode on it soon.

Brought back the ability to copy colors from the Tailwind docs — regular click will copy the OKLCH value, shift+click will copy the nearest hex value 👍🏻 Useful for Figma and stuff, or to just steal our colors and use them with some other CSS framework you hate less.

🎧 Last week I talked to Justin Jackson about the big hiring project we just wrapped up at Tailwind Labs — 1600 people applied for the roles. We hired two people, and neither of them actually applied. Not how I expected it to go — lots of surprising takeaways and lessons learned.

She was by herself with the baby, came home and wasn’t feeling well and had zero memory of anything happening, she just thought she came home because she was feeling dizzy. Couldn’t find her phone later in the afternoon, tracked it and found it in the stroller which she had left behind on the walk and had no idea she did it. She carried the baby home in her arms after the seizure and has no memory of doing that at all. Was down for 8 minutes with the baby before finally managing to get to her feet and stumble home. By pure luck our neighbors caught it on their security camera, scariest thing I’ve ever watched 😣 So scary that this can just happen to anyone with no warning. Hopefully just a freak thing 😰
