Big update today: We've meaningfully upgraded our AI capabilities inside Notion. You can now do much more complex things (computer + browser use!), let the AI run much longer (up to 24 hours!), and do all of this in a much more secure setup. We've also overhauled our pricing and packaging. Instead of having different products on different versions of our plans, all AI capabilities now run on credits. The vast majority of you will never have to think about credits because a) you'll have plenty to use each month, and b) the new auto-mode makes things an order of magnitude more efficient. Our most advanced users will now have the flexibility to choose the best intelligence-to-price option. This includes bringing your ChatGPT subscription, using your own tokens (via BYOK), leveraging MCP, or buying credits from us (only when the math makes sense!). The credit model is similar to what several other companies (Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor) have adopted over the past year. We're adopting it today so we can keep bringing you the most advanced AI capabilities while giving you more control over what you use and what you spend. I shot a quick video to explain all of this, and I'll be on the Twitters all day answering your questions:

I've been personal agent-maxing lately, and loving it. The new products are proactive, useful, and so fun. They get even better when they know me well. So I built a portable context vault in Notion and connected every agent to it. They write back new memories, skills, and preferences, then sync each morning. Now, whenever I try a new agent, the first thing I do is connect my vault, and it instantly gets all my preferences in one shot. I can also start a project with one agent, and switch over to another seamlessly. I shot a quick video to walk through the setup. LMK if you have any questions!

Just got access to “Browser Use” inside Notion AI. So many interesting possibilities here.

For the past few months, a small crew got together to overhaul Notion sidebar / navigation. We called the project "Slippery Slope" :) For anyone who's worked on a similar project knows how hard it is to make any changes to navigation, because it directly impacts how millions of people use your product every single day. To my surprise and delight, the team was able to ship something remarkably better in a matter of weeks. We've been using it internally for some time now, and I cannot imagine going back. We start ramping to users tomorrow, but feel free to reply here, and I'll try my best to turn on early access!

a sneak peek at what we’ve been building at Notion this week

Just played around with Cole Bemis’ work on sidebars and omg, it is SO satisfying. Cole & team have basically made the sidebar completely malleable. You can add or remove sections, create your own tabs, and customize how everything is organized. In a couple minutes, I went from one giant tab to separate, focused tabs for docs, meetings, recents, and chats. It feels like rearranging Lego blocks until everything clicks into place. Very fun. We’re opening this up in alpha now. If you’d like to try it, fill out the form below and we’ll turn it on for you. Would love to hear what you think!

I shot this video last week to onboard a new set of alpha customers to Notion Custom Agents. Figured I should just put it out here so you can follow along the latest and greatest. It's so cool to see all the things people are building with it. You can see some of my own use cases here: (0:00) Intro to custom agents Starting with personal use cases (1:00) Building a mail triage agent (5:00) Creating a prep doc for all my daily meetings (6:45) Generating a daily report that helps me catch up with multiple slack channels Switching to company use cases (8:30) Agent that automatically answers questions in a slack channel and files tasks when necessary (10:30) Agent that auto-routes product feedback to the right team channel and task db. And it does this with routing rules, that it wrote itself. (12:40) Build your own agent. Let your imaginations run wild! Send us feedback! The product is rolling out quickly, and everyone should have access in the next couple weeks.

I vibe coded an iOS app this week. I called it Pulse. LMK if you'd like to try it!

This is a good example of a very useful "GTM factory": it captures customer input from multiple sources, routes it to the right places, and synthesizes everything into a clear report that product teams can use to run their own factory. What factory are you building?

At Notion, we’re excited to serve not just the Fortune 500, but the Fortune 5 million. Diffusing the power of AI to millions of small businesses will require us to pair the products we’re building with workshops that educate and inspire them to transform how they work. Last week, we hosted several café owners in San Francisco to taste their coffee (which I learned is called “cupping”) and help them build their first agents. If you have ideas for other types of businesses that could benefit from workshops like these, or if you’d like to host one, drop me a line. DMs are open!

Starting something fun: Notion After Hours. Here's episode 1 with Geoffrey Litt, Mary Rose Cook, Max Schoening and Nintendo .DS_Store! We talk lifelong love of computers, malleable software, and the future of our relationships with AI. All the stuff we care about. Tell us what you think!

For most of the last two decades, our ability to make things on mobile devices has been pretty limited. We got good at writing emails, taking photos and videos, and doing some light editing. But the vast majority of our time was still spent consuming. One under-discussed shift is how much AI has unlocked creation on mobile. People are literally coding iOS apps on their iPhones now. The activation energy has dropped dramatically. This is true for Notion as well. Writing a doc or creating and managing a database used to be fairly involved, not to mention the paper cuts that we are fixing fast. The new agent on mobile has made creation 10x faster and better. And I should add, 100x more fun! In this demo, I use our iOS app exclusively by interacting with the agent. I never type into a doc or a database. I just ask the agent to make things, add things, and update things, and it goes and does it. Take a look, and let me know what you think!

Notion’s Q3 was our finest yet. Growth is accelerating at scale. We used to sell software; now we sell work itself. That’s a profound shift, and the numbers show it. I ran 50+ demos this past quarter, refining our story for customers each time. I shared the latest version internally last week and thought: why not share it with all of you too? It’s an 18-minute watch; feedback welcome!
