#EXCLUSIVE: Two Dominican nationals who entered the U.S. illegally near San Luis, Arizona, and were released under the previous administration are wanted in the Oct. 2nd stabbing of an off-duty NYPD officer in the Bronx, according to the NYPD Homeland Security. • D’Angelo Caraballo, 25: Border Patrol encountered him near San Luis on Feb. 3, 2023, after an attempted unauthorized entry. He was released that same day on his own recognizance pending immigration proceedings. He has five prior arrests involving charges including fleeing police, drug possession, possession of a loaded firearm and menacing with a weapon. ICE did not lodge detainers because he had been released from custody before ICE identified the encounters. He remains in immigration proceedings. • Sneider Mejia Bautista, 24: Border Patrol encountered him near San Luis on Dec. 2, 2022, after an attempted unauthorized entry with his family. He was paroled into the U.S. that same day. An immigration judge ordered him removed in May 2025 after he failed to appear. He has three prior arrests, including charges involving stolen property, burglar’s tools, grand larceny and weapon possession. ICE lodged a detainer with Bronx Central Booking in October 2025, but the agency declined it. Secretary Markwayne Mullin saying, “These illegal aliens from the Dominican Republic are suspects in the stabbing and attempted robbery of an off-duty NYPD detective. Both of these suspects were RELEASED into the country by the Biden Administration, and despite multiple prior arrests in New York, sanctuary politicians refused to cooperate with ICE and released them. This horrific crime could have been prevented if it weren’t for Biden’s open borders and the America Last policies of New York sanctuary politicians. These suspects remain at-large. DHS is calling on New York authorities to cooperate with us so we can get these dangerous criminals off our streets. Our thoughts and prayers are with the detective for a speedy recovery.” NYPD confirmed both men are suspects in the stabbing and are at large.

🎶 If I'm ever in the spotlight, I'll point it back your way—'Cause standing at the top was never-ever my goal, but if you put me on a mountain then I'll tell the whole world—Singing hallelujah 'til I hit the dirt… 🎶 I never do anything in this job without a prayer and a “gut check” convo with God—He guides my every step. I’m never anywhere by coincidence or accident—He put me there. He is always right on time 🙏🏼

NEW: Drug cartels are rapidly advancing their drone capabilities — and U.S. officials are now concerned they could be learning from the battlefield. There are reports cartel affiliates are being sent to the Russia-Ukraine war to gain battlefield experience — potentially bringing those skills back to Mexico. A Department of State spokesperson saying, “The Department of State takes seriously reports of transnational criminal organizations’ growing use of drone technology and tracks the issue closely… The Department of State engages U.S. law enforcement and Ukrainian counterparts to adopt measures to mitigate the risk of battlefield skills transfer and apply lessons from Ukrainian counter-UAS experience to counter the cartel drone threat.” In a statement, CBP telling NewsNation, “In fiscal year 2025, CBP detected over 42,000 near-border, unmanned drone flights. This fiscal year, detections have exceeded that number… Cartels use drones to conduct surveillance on U.S. law enforcement, to move illegal narcotics across the border into the United States, and to guide illegal aliens across the border. Inside Mexico, cartels use weaponized drones against rival cartels, law enforcement, and military personnel to evade arrest and capture. They continue to advance their drone technology and tactics, to conceal their movements and operations. President Trump’s executive orders and overall focus on cartels and air dominance has empowered CBP to combat and mitigate cartels’ use of drones. Additional technology resources have benefited border security operations. CBP continues to deploy multi-sensor capabilities on the border to increase detection and mitigation effectiveness.” H/t Jackie

NEW: ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Executive Associate Director Marcos Charles says Oscar Belgal was the target of an HSI investigation and that’s why prompted ICE officers to stop him in the Bronx yesterday afternoon. He has a prior conviction on grand larceny and a series of other arrests for assault, robbery, drug and weapon possession. Investigators believe he is associated with a gang thought to be responsible for the death of a CBP officer, and they believe Bergal has firsthand knowledge of the incident. Charles says Belgal was struck with a bullet or fragment in his neck while trying to evade arrest adding that ICE officers targeted Bergal and attempted to stop him by boxing in his vehicle, but he accelerated and hit two different ice vehicles, ice officers then fired their weapons. Secretary Markwayne Mullin says there were body cameras and they were on. They say they previously tried to detain him in September, but they did not pursue him when he fled. ICE did have a detainer on him prior to his release from jail in April, but the state of New York did not honor it, something Secretary Mullin says is all too common saying they have asked for 14,766 detainers to be honored in the state. Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani demanded that ICE operations end in New York—Secretary Mullin says they are not going to be pausing enforcement operations. He says they will not stop doing their job… adding that they welcome the collaboration with New York. The FBI and HSI are investigating.
