The Smashing Pumpkins performing "Cherub Rock" live on MTV's Most Wanted with Ray Cokes in 1993. Billy Corgan wrote "Cherub Rock" as a response to critics who accused the band of selling out after signing with a major label. He later said the song was about trusting himself instead of "playing someone else's game." Fun fact: Corgan has also revealed that the song's iconic opening drum pattern was inspired by Rush's "By-Tor and the Snow Dog."

"Lightning Crashes" by Live, performed during 2 Meter Sessions in 1995. Ed Kowalczyk wrote the song shortly before moving into his first home. He later said the video was often misunderstood—it wasn't about tragedy in childbirth, but about the passing of life from one generation to the next.

Pearl Jam playing “Black” at Seattle’s Magnuson Park (Sept 20, 1992) is one of those shows where you can feel the air change. Eddie straight up admits it’s hard to sing, asks the crowd to help, and then the whole place carries it with him. Absolute goosebumps.
