Smashing Pumpkins playing “Drown” live at Pinkpop ’94 is the band at full steam, right on the edge of blowing up. It’s raw, loud, and hypnotic, with that riff just looping you in while Billy sounds like he’s singing through static and emotion at the same time.

Blind Melon’s “No Rain” (1993) is the perfect sunny-sounding song that’s secretly heavy. The melody floats, but Shannon Hoon’s words are pure loneliness — and that “Bee Girl” video turned it into an anthem for anybody who’s ever felt a little outside the circle.

4 Non Blondes Reunite for Rare Performance of ‘What’s Up? 4 Non Blondes got back together this weekend at the Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival and performed their iconic hit “What’s Up?”—marking only the second time they’ve played it live since 1994. The last time they performed it was during a short reunion at Linda Perry’s Evening For Women event in L.A. back in 2014.
