I only buy pullbacks when I see moving averages and key structural support line up at the exact same spot. Single technical levels fail all the time, so I look for confluence before putting my capital at risk. When a key moving average sits right on top of prior horizontal support, my risk becomes clearly defined. That intersection is where I get my best risk-to-reward entries.

I look for the Undercut & Rally tactic right at the lower boundary of a range. This setup triggers when price breaks below known support to clear out stops, then quickly reclaims that level. I enter as soon as the stock re-enters the range, letting the shakeout provide momentum as shorts are forced to cover. It allows me to place a precise stop just under the recent undercut low.

I refuse to place a stop loss at an arbitrary percentage just because it feels safe. My stop has to sit right beneath a clean structural pivot or key support level. If the price hits that point, it means my entire thesis for the trade is invalid, not just that the stock fluctuated. That clear logical boundary keeps me in valid moves while strictly capping my downside. Respecting market structure is the only way I manage my downside.

Pick a random stock, go back in time, and go bar by bar. Mike Webster is big on this. Look at where price is, call your expectation, then click to the next bar and see. Couple it with volume Do it on quality uptrends, or any random name. 30 minutes on a Saturday morning. Your read on how price forms will improve over time.

I see so many people spend years bouncing between Stage 1 and Stage 2 without making real progress. Stage 1 is total randomness, and Stage 2 is that frustrating break-even chop where you have a strategy but no consistency. The shift to Stage 3 only happens when you stop gambling and start treating your execution like an actual business. That mental shift changes everything about how you operate.

Minervini didn't invent from nothing. He took pieces of Weinstein and others, then gave it his own flavor. He noticed profit margins mattered. He noticed volatility contracting into range expansion, and built the VCP around it. That came from model books and studies. That's why he's the subject-matter expert on it.

The launchpad setup: 21-day, 50-day and 65 EMA bunched within 1-3% of each other. That means price has contracted over 65-plus sessions, roughly three months of basing. When they're that tight, a directional move usually follows. You'll see a cluster of these as the market comes out of a correction.

If you're down 5-10% from your highs and still putting on full-size longs, your math is working against the market. That's not a test position, that's insanity. Four losses in a row is the market telling you something. You have no right to go full size there. Cut to an eighth, a sixteenth, and see if the water's warm enough to swim.

No one wakes up a stage three trader. Almost nobody skips from stage one to stage three in a short span. It's a journey no matter where you're starting. What matters isn't the stage you're in. It's the continuous improvement from one to the next. Don't discount the fact that you have to go through each of them.

Paper trading, in my opinion, is a load of it. It doesn't give you the real feel. What I do is allocate a slice of real capital I'm willing to lose , 5%, 10%, whatever, and test there . Real money puts real emotion behind it, and that's the only feedback I can actually learn from. People will disagree with me . That's fine It's what's worked for me . .
