The past 30 minutes have been wild. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright posted that a US Ship had officially gone through the Strait of Hormuz. Markets loved it, oil tanked, the idea that war was coming to an end started to have some legitimacy. Then, he deleted the tweet, which got markets to think things aren't actually going well. Now, Karoline Levitt confirms that a US Ship has NOT gone through the Strait and oil is now pumping again:

MARK ZUCKERBERG: “We are going to spend aggressively. Even if we lose a couple hundred billion, it would suck, but it’s better than being behind the race for super intelligence.” To even hear Zucks say this…it shows how important they believe the opportunity is. Cap-ex is not slowing down. $META $NVDA

I sat down with the CEO and CoFounder of Robinhood, Vlad Tenev, to discuss a variety of topics after Robinhood's Gold Standard event. In the podcast, we discussed the early days of Robinhood and how the company grew, the economics behind Robinhood Gold's new 1% unlimited match on deposits, how Robinhood thinks of the credit market with their new 3% cash back card, international expansion, crypto, and more. This was one of the first long-form podcasts Vlad has sat down for in over 2 years, so was very grateful for him giving the time after one of the busiest weeks in history for the company following their Gold event. I hope you all enjoy and it helps give some more insights into what Robinhood is trying to build!

Worth listening to Mariana Atencio, native Venezuelan journalist, on what the people in Venezuela actually wanted when it came to Maduro.

TRUMP JUST NOW: - Stocks were up 88% in my first term, they will be up more now that I get to do what I want with tariffs - Countries are calling me and “kissing my ass” - Congress wants to take away my power to negotiate on tariffs but Congress sucks at negotiating

$NFLX $WBD Wow. Paramount CEO is very serious about winning this bid. "We gave them everything they wanted, and we are giving it in all cash. We just have a better offer for shareholders." Warner Bros now has no choice but to entertain this offer as a fiduciary.

I know very little about Quantum. However, the $IONQ CEO saying that $NVDA GPUs will become irrelevant by 2027 is quite the claim. "The blackwell chip will look dated by 2027 and honestly that will wipe the floor with any other supercomputer that exists on earth." Either this is the greatest opportunity ever, given $IONQ would be gunning for Nvidia's marketshare which would mean their $20B marketcap would have a chance to reach many trillions...or someone is greatly exaggerating the truth and creating a false narrative.

Trump co-signing this thesis below in a new interview this morning. It cannot be more obvious. He is telling you straight to your face. The White House does not care about the market, they care about rates coming down, which might require the market coming down. When asked about rising input costs from tariffs, Trump said: "Well, in the meantime, guess what? Interest rates are down for the last 3 days at good levels. I've been saying lets get interest rates down. You know, no one ever gets rich when the rates are high, because you can't borrow money."

One of the more intense exchanges today from Powell’s testimony today: “You are causing the country $400B, you’re the only person who has the power to do that. You care more about Harvard gender study majors over plumbers in Ohio who can’t afford a car loan because of rates.”

I sat down with Tom Lee, Managing Partner & Head of Research at Fundstrat Global Advisors, to discuss the beginning of a new bull rally, why institutions didn't buy the dip, and the future of retail investing. Tom is one of the most down-to-earth and humble people I have ever met. His perspectives on analyzing the macro while also diving deeper into the nuances of AI, technology, and innovation creates a fundamentally differentiated point of view — backed by evidence, which has changed the financial future for millions across the world that listened to him over the mainstream consensus. Tom is a very busy person so I deeply appreciated him sitting down and sharing his perspectives. Thank you again Thomas (Tom) Lee (not drummer) FundstratDirect.com for taking the time! JD VANCE: “I think we are headed for a shutdown.” I see two scenarios for how this plays out: 1.) The market freaks out and gives the 5% dip that everyone thought would happen in Aug/Sep. I think money on the sidelines finally jumps at that dip. 2.) The market focuses more on corporate earnings that will begin in 2 weeks, knows that gov shutdowns eventually reopen, and treats this as a nothingburger. Overall, it’s annoying, but I don’t think it really affects the markets.

$TSLA ELON MUSK: “One thing I’m trying to figure out is how to make enough chips, maybe we’ll work with Intel, but even whe we extrapolate the best case scenario for chip production form our suppliers. it is still not enough. I cant see any other way to get to the volume of chips we are looking for, so i think we will have to build a gigantic chip fab.” Tesla getting into the chip game 👀
