यह तो ग़लत हो रहा है। लेकिन झूठ फैलाना उससे भी ज़्यादा ग़लत है। केजरीवाल एंड कंपनी और CJP के आपिये पहले यह तय कर लें कि गांव वालों को अपनी राजनीति का मोहरा बनाना है या उनकी बात भी सुननी है। गांव वालों ने साफ कहा है, “हम बीजेपी से नहीं हैं। हमें कोई राजनीति नहीं चाहिए।” फिर सवाल उठता है कि दीपके एंड गैंग वहां किसके एजेंडे के साथ पहुंचे थे? बच्चों की शिक्षा की आड़ में राजनीतिक ड्रामा खड़ा करना और फिर हिंसा का ठीकरा बीजेपी पर फोड़ देना अब पुरानी पटकथा हो चुकी है। और केजरीवाल का CJP के पक्ष में इस तरह खुलकर उतरना बहुत कुछ कहता है। उनका दर्द कहीं यह तो नहीं बता रहा कि दीपके एंड गैंग को आम आदमी पार्टी का ही संरक्षण और समर्थन हासिल था? गांव वालों को राजनीति नहीं, अपने बच्चों का भविष्य चाहिए। उन्हें पढ़ाई चाहिए, न कि केजरीवाल एंड कंपनी का राजनीतिक प्रोपेगेंडा।

Rahul Gandhi was once again caught on a hot mic being tutored, words being fed to him before he could repeat them. This is hardly the first time. We have seen Jairam Ramesh do it in the past. Now, increasingly, the सफेद बाल वाला seems to be doing the same. One has to wonder: who, other than the Congress, would want a leader who cannot even articulate his own thoughts without someone whispering the script into his ear? It also tells you something about the ecosystem around Rahul Gandhi. His advisers seem less interested in developing an independent political mind and more interested in turning him and Priyanka Vadra into mouthpieces for their ideological talking points. Remember Priyanka’s lowbrow jibe at the head of IIT Madras? That too appeared less like an informed political argument and more like another line handed to a politician to deliver. A party that aspires to lead India should want its leaders to think first, speak second. In the Congress, it increasingly appears to be the other way around: the script comes first, Rahul Gandhi comes later.

For the first time, the entire ‘Vande Mataram’ was sung at the Congress headquarters on Independence Day. After the initial stanzas of Vande Mataram were sung, Sonia Gandhi became agitated and asked for the rendition to be stopped rather than played in full. Rahul Gandhi too appeared to signal that it should end. They were told to let it continue. The message was clear: the complete National Song is now to be respected under the new legal framework, and intentional obstruction or disturbance can invite serious consequences. They eventually fell in line, and Vande Mataram was sung in full. 🇮🇳 For decades, the Gandhis and the Congress have displayed an uneasy relationship with the idea of a culturally confident, civilisationally rooted India. That discomfort stood exposed, ironically, on Independence Day. “अन्ना हज़ारे जैसे बुद्धों से हमें कोई इंस्पिरेशन लेने की ज़रूरत नहीं!” यह सिर्फ़ बदतमीज़ी नहीं, बल्कि संस्कारों के पूर्ण अभाव का परिचय है. जो व्यक्ति अपने से कहीं अधिक उम्र के लोगों के लिए ऐसी भाषा इस्तेमाल करता है, उसे पहले यह सोचना चाहिए कि उसके अपने पिता की उम्र क्या है. क्या उनके लिए भी यही शब्दावली स्वीकार्य होगी? राजनीतिक असहमति अपनी जगह है, लेकिन शालीनता और मर्यादा का भी कोई अर्थ होता है. जब भाषा गिर जाती है, तो तर्क भी साथ छोड़ देते हैं.

सुधीर चौधरी ने एक बेहद साधारण, लेकिन बहुत कुछ कह जाने वाली बात की ओर ध्यान दिलाया है। सुप्रिया सुले के कार्यक्रम में जब प्रधानमंत्री मोदी की नजर प्रियंका वाड्रा पर पड़ी, तो वे रुके और पूछा - “प्रियंका जी, कैसी हैं आप?” चाहते तो अनदेखा कर सकते थे। औपचारिकता निभाकर आगे बढ़ सकते थे। लेकिन उन्होंने सम्मान और शिष्टाचार को चुना। अब राहुल गांधी की नरेंद्र मोदी और अमित शाह के लिए इस्तेमाल की जाने वाली भाषा देखिए: तड़ीपार, वो डर के भाग गया, उसकी हिम्मत नहीं है, ये आदमी टिक नहीं सकता इत्यादि। नरेंद्र मोदी उनकी माँ की पीढ़ी के व्यक्ति हैं। फिर भी संबोधन में वह न्यूनतम शिष्टाचार तक नहीं दिखता, जो सार्वजनिक जीवन में स्वाभाविक होना चाहिए। फर्क साफ है: एक तरफ राजनीति में असहमति के बावजूद सम्मान की न्यूनतम मर्यादा है, दूसरी तरफ नफरत में शिष्टाचार भी खो चुका है।

योगेंद्र यादव का यह कहना कि “देश का भविष्य संसद से नहीं, सड़क से तय होगा” और “चुनाव से नहीं, resistance से होगा” सिर्फ़ एक राजनीतिक बयान नहीं, बल्कि बाबासाहेब डॉ. भीमराव आंबेडकर की संवैधानिक चेतावनी के ठीक विपरीत खड़ा है। 25 नवंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा में बाबासाहेब ने स्पष्ट कहा था कि जब संवैधानिक रास्ते खुले हों, तब civil disobedience, non-cooperation और ऐसे असंवैधानिक तरीकों का कोई औचित्य नहीं है। उन्होंने इन्हें “Grammar of Anarchy” कहा था और चेताया था कि लोकतंत्र को बचाना है तो ऐसे तरीकों का त्याग करना होगा। भारत में सरकारें संसद और चुनाव से बनती हैं, सड़क पर हिंसा, अराजकता और दबाव की राजनीति से नहीं। विडंबना देखिए, जो लोग हर बात पर संविधान बचाने का दावा करते हैं, वही आज खुलेआम संविधान द्वारा स्थापित लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया को चुनौती दे रहे हैं। बाबासाहेब की सबसे बड़ी सीख यही थी कि असहमति का अधिकार है, लेकिन उसका मार्ग संविधान के भीतर होना चाहिए। जो लोग चुनावों के बजाय “resistance” और सड़क को सत्ता परिवर्तन का माध्यम बताते हैं, वे दरअसल उसी “Grammar of Anarchy” का समर्थन कर रहे हैं, जिसके ख़िलाफ़ बाबासाहेब ने देश को आगाह किया था. लोकतंत्र का सबसे बड़ा शत्रु मतपत्र नहीं, बल्कि वह सोच है जो जनादेश को सड़क की अराजकता से पलटना चाहती है।

If being a slimeball had a face, it would be Rajdeep Sardesai. He writes a long post glorifying one of the prominent faces of the protest in the name of students, yet conveniently omits a detail that readers deserve to know: the individual is an AAP office bearer from Rajasthan and has been associated with them as a spokesperson for years. That omission is not a minor oversight, it changes the entire picture. CJP is nothing but “AAP 2.0.” At 61, after decades in the profession, one would expect Rajdeep Sardesai to place the whole truth before his readers, not just the parts that suit his politics.

राज्यसभा में खरगे जी ने जो आरोप लगाया, यह वीडियो उसके बिल्कुल उलट कहानी बयां करता है। यह एक मंदिर परिसर है, जहाँ कांग्रेस की रैली के मंच से “अल्लाह हू अकबर” के नारे लगाए गए। मंदिर परिसर और उसके ट्रस्टी इस बात से नाराज़ हैं और मंच के शुद्धिकरण के लिए यज्ञ कर रहे हैं। इस पूरे मामले में जाति का कोई विषय ही नहीं है। राजनीतिक स्वार्थ के लिए भ्रम फैलाकर हिंदुओं को बाँटने का काम बंद होना चाहिए। कांग्रेस सच्चाई को जाति का रंग देकर समाज को बाँटने की कोशिश न करे।

BBC’s editorial partisanship extends well beyond these examples, we have seen it reflected in its coverage of India over the years. It is significant when someone from within the organisation begins to lift the veil on how editorial decisions were made.
