Tear gas and batons. Suspended metro services and mobile internet. Reported unnecessary and excessive use of force against peaceful protesters. Demonstrators in India were marching towards parliament to demand the resignation of a Union education minister following alleged examination paper leaks that affected millions of students. The Delhi Police responded with violent crackdowns. Indian authorities must ensure that all allegations of unlawful conduct against these Cockroach Party-led protests are promptly, independently, and impartially investigated.

Rather than launching a campaign against the ICC and continuing to arm a government engaged in a genocide, US authorities should respect human rights and the rule of law. New York Mayor Mamdani is right: PM Netanyahu should be arrested and tried by the International Criminal Court.

In October and November 2025, Amnesty researchers, visited northeastern Chad near the border with Sudan. Here they documented what civilians have lived through since the war began. Many of the people they spoke to were children. Children who fled under fire were deliberately shot, separated from their families or forced to survive on their own. These are their stories. Take action for the children of Sudan:

The World Cup group stages brought joy to people around the world - but we must not forget about the human rights perspective. While teams went head-to-head in stadiums across Canada, the US and Mexico, ICE arrests doubled, many fans and athletes on the US travel ban list were denied entry to the country to watch the games, and players and fans were victims of racism. We still have time to make this a World Cup for all, and there must be change beyond the games. Mass detentions and deportations must end, and the US must become a place free from discrimination and hate. We called and continue to call for no fear, no crackdowns and no excuses as we hit the quarter-finals. Make the World Cup an arena of joy, not fear. Humanity Must Win.

Israel must lift the siege of Gaza, restore the electricity and water supply and allow humanitarian access. Its forces must abide by international humanitarian law and take all feasible precautions to protect civilians and refrain from indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks.

Iranian authorities must immediately quash the convictions in mid-June of singer Parastoo Ahmadi and eight other musicians who were each sentenced to 74 lashes, a two-year travel ban and two-year ban on artistic activities. Their sentences relate to a live-streamed 2024 concert in Qom province where Parastoo Ahmadi performed unveiled in a sleeveless dress. The video went viral, gaining millions of views. Flogging constitutes cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment, and violates the absolute prohibition on torture and other ill-treatment. Iranian authorities must abolish compulsory veiling and corporal punishment and end the criminalization of freedom of expression.

Israel continues to destroy civilian infrastructure as shown in this video, which captures the Israeli army destroying solar panels in southern Lebanon. Amnesty International has previously documented extensive destruction by the Israeli military along Lebanon’s border before and after the November 2024 ceasefire. We called for reparations and the investigation into this for war crimes. So far, neither has appeared. Since the more recent 2026 “ceasefire”, civilians in southern Lebanon’s border villages, many of whom are displaced, are continuing to witness their homes, land and infrastructure destroyed. Israel must stop the unlawful destruction of civilian property across southern Lebanon.

The ugly scenes of European Parliament members chanting ‘send them back’ are a manifestation of long-standing racism and xenophobia being tolerated and emboldened inside and outside the Parliament. In the context of systemic racism, the chant is based on the racist prejudice that migrants, refugees and asylum seekers - mostly racialized people in Europe - do not belong in the EU. This incident followed the vote on the Return Regulation, a law that will vastly expand the EU's detention and deportation of undocumented people. For years, European leaders have scapegoated migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to distract from their own failures to deal with the consequences of cuts to public services, the housing crisis and the rising cost of living. President Roberta Metsola’s condemnation of this is welcome but not enough. As the EU prepares its harshest assault on migrants’ rights in recent memory, these scenes are a warning of what lies ahead if we fail to change course. This must be a moment of reckoning to confront racism in Europe.

Video after video shows Israeli settlers violently harassing and attacking Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, seizing their livestock, bulldozing their schools, setting fire to their property and even killing Palestinians as part of a brutal campaign to forcibly displace Palestinians and expand control over the land – with full political and financial backing from the highest authorities of the Israeli state. This is what a policy of state-led ethnic cleansing looks like. Watch. Share. Demand action.
