🇵🇰 For nearly one year, Gulzadi Baloch has been in unlawful pretrial detention; taken from her home by counter‑terrorism officials and cut off from the life she once knew. Her sister recalls those terrifying first hours when no one knew where Gulzadi had been taken - hours filled with fear and panic. While Gulzadi’s arrest has stripped away her freedom, peaceful protest and expression have also been silenced across Balochistan. Just this month, families of detained activists were barred from holding a press conference at Quetta Press Club. Pakistani authorities must release Gulzadi and all arbitrarily detained Baloch activists immediately. 👉 Join our urgent action to demand their freedom 📝 #ReleaseGulzadi #ReleaseBalochActivists

PAKISTAN: What do teachers, students, labourers, minors, people with disabilities and activists in Pakistan have in common? They have all been subjected to enforced disappearances. Families of the forcibly disappeared have to deal with a legal system that has failed to provide truth and justice. On International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, families are left only with questions and memories of their loved ones. Pakistani authorities must: 📌 Stop the practice of enforced disappearances; 📌 Unconditionally disclose the fate and/or whereabouts of forcibly disappeared people to their families; 📌 Ensure accountability for all cases of enforced disappearances. #EndEnforcedDisappearances Defence of Human Rights Pakistan

Bangladesh: Khadijatul Kubra, a 20-year-old university student, has been in pre-trial detention for over a year under the now-repealed draconian Digital Security Act (DSA), for hosting a webinar in 2020. She was arrested two years later on 27 August 2022. Though she was 17 years old at the time of the webinar, she was prosecuted as an adult. Her health is now deteriorating, and her bail applications were rejected repeatedly. Khadija's next bail hearing will be scheduled after 10th November. Khadija should be in university, studying for her degree, not in jail waiting for her fate to be decided under a draconian law. Sign our URGENT ACTION, and demand the government of Bangladesh to; 📌Drop the case against Khadijatul Kubra and immediately and unconditionally release her 📌Pending her release, ensure that she has regular access to adequate healthcare and is held in conditions that meet international standards 📌Release all those charged and detained under the DSA solely for exercising their right to freedom of expression #FreeKhadija

PAKISTAN: Today on International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, thousands of families await the return of their loved ones. Today, Amnesty International and seven other civil society organizations highlighted the failure of the Pakistani authorities to address enforced disappearance and continued injustice for victims. The government-formed Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances (COIED) has registered a total of 10,592 cases from 2010 to August 2025. However, not a single person or authority has been prosecuted in these cases. Pakistan must end impunity for enforced disappearances NOW. 🔗 Read our joint statement here: Defence of Human Rights Pakistan #EndEnforcedDisappearances

PAKISTAN: Afghan presence, culture and craft have become an integral part of life in the capital city of Pakistan. Without Afghan nationals, Islamabad wouldn’t be the same, shares Amnesty’s campaigner who grew up in the city. An executive order is now forcing Afghan nationals, including refugees and asylum seekers, out of Islamabad and the neighbouring city Rawalpindi, by 31 March 2025. In some parts, detentions and deportations have already begun. Families who have called these cities home for generations are being torn away. Losing them means losing a part of the city itself. 🚨 Pakistan must stop these unlawful deportations 🚨 📢 Read more: #StopDeportationsNow #UndoTheDeadline
