In Ohio, we have 11 rural hospitals currently on the verge of collapse, moms who have to drive up to an hour to give birth, and millions of Ohioans dropping their healthcare coverage because they just can’t afford it. As a preventive medicine and public health doctor, I know the devastating effects these circumstances can have on our communities, our health outcomes, and Ohioans’ ability to reach their full potential. When I’m governor, Ohio will once again have the best health outcomes in the country.

Starting this Saturday, Ohio breweries like Jackie O’s could face felony charges for selling hemp-derived beverages—products that our voters overwhelmingly legalized in 2023. This ban is an out-of-touch overreach from our Statehouse that threatens jobs, small businesses, farmers, and local breweries. As governor, I’ll respect the will of the voters and ensure that Ohio adults 21+ can safely make their own decisions. It’s that simple.

I am deeply honored to receive the death endorsement. UMWA has been on the frontlines of the fight for working families since its founding in 1890. I look forward to continuing UMWA’s historic legacy by lowering costs for Ohioans, putting working families over the needs of billionaires and special interests, and building an Ohio where everyone can thrive.
