Some milestones are best experienced from behind the wheel. I recently took one of our electric 3-wheelers for a spin in Hyderabad as Mahindra Last Mile Mobility marked 400,000 vehicles on the road. It was hugely energizing to converse with the team and witness first-hand the pride & energy behind this achievement. What I realised was that the real ‘renewable energy’ fueling our vehicles is their hunger to succeed…! Congratulations to Suman and the entire team. A milestone worth celebrating and a journey worth watching.

Most of us now know Indore as India’s cleanest city. That reputation alone is reason enough to visit. But who knew that just outside it lies something quite as magical as this? Gulawat’s famous “Lotus Valley” An expanse of pink blooms floating on the water. And here’s the twist. Despite the name, many of those blooms appear to be water lilies rather than true lotuses.. Whatever the botanists decide to call them, I know what I’d call this place. Stunning. Another extraordinary corner of India I had no idea existed… #SundayWanderer

At the last edition of Tech Mahindra Global Chess League, I asked one of the Icon players whether he was enjoying the League. What he enjoyed most, he said, was being part of a team. This clip is from the 2026 Asian U23 Athletics Championships, held at the Sport Development Center Stadium in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China, from 9–12 July 2026. Shravani Sangle, a 20-year-old sprinter from Maharashtra ran the final leg for India in the mixed 4×400 m China led going into the closing metres, & Shravani came from behind to pass China’s anchor just 0.10 seconds ahead. I was holding my breath watching that final lap. It didn’t look even conceivable that she would be able to catch up. But Shravan wasn’t willing to see finishing second to a powerhouse like China as inevitable & acceptable. She didn’t see the yawning gap as an impossibility. She was practising the art of the possible… Giving up wasn’t acceptable. Shravani is my #MondayMotivation

I don’t often recommend travelling to locations solely for a culinary experience… Maybe this one is because my grandson is visiting & he’s a dosa fanatic. But I have to say, I’d love to be able to teleport the family to ‘Chutney Maami’ for grabbing this Sunday bite together. Or perhaps Swiggy or Zomato could start an inter-state drone delivery service…(yes, yes, I know the Dosa will wilt.. but who knows?) #SundayWanderer

A couple of weeks ago, I made the rather unusual recommendation of taking a trip just to visit a restaurant, to sample their gigantic dosas. I did say, somewhat wistfully, that perhaps someday there might be an interstate drone delivery service… The kind folks at Chutney Maami have now made this wonderful AI clip, bringing my wish to life! One day, perhaps… 😊

For most of us, Onam’s most vivid memory is the Sadhya. Certainly true for me. At boarding school in Ooty, we eagerly awaited the Onam feast & above all, the payasam.. But perhaps the most vibrant image of Onam is Vallam Kali with those magnificent, arrow-like snake boats slicing through Kerala’s waters. Hundreds of oars. But One rhythm. One direction. A spectacular reminder of what we can achieve when we pull together. Happy Onam to you all… 🙏🏽

An Indonesian YouTube channel called Albumology has built a fascinating library of retro Hindi classics, reimagined in Reggae/Ska. Using local Indonesian session musicians and vocalists, they’ve given these songs an entirely new cultural texture. I came across this rendition of Neele Gagan Ke Tale in a post by Shekar Iyer I couldn’t stop playing it on loop. It’s now downloaded and will become a permanent part of my road trip playlist. The original, in the immortal voice of Mahendra Kapoor, is, of course, beyond comparison. But this arrangement gives the song a universal feel. It’ll make you tap your feet, no matter where you come from. And listening to the lyrics again, I was struck by how beautifully they celebrate the natural world. Long before sustainability became a global movement, this song was already reminding us of our bond with the planet. Perhaps it deserves to be an anthem for that cause. #SundayWanderer

Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this news. Of course, India is a global force in shooting, but most of our success has come in rifle & pistol events. Trap and skeet have always been much tougher to crack, demanding a very different ecosystem of ranges, coaching and competition. That’s what makes Neeru Dhanda’s victory so special. To win an ISSF World Cup gold in trap is one thing. To do it at Lonato, which is one of the sport’s most iconic venues and a place every shotgun shooter reveres, is another. Clay target shooting has long been a European stronghold and is a discipline many Americans proudly regard as their own. Which is why Neeru’s gold feels like such a breakthrough. Congratulations, Neeru. May this be the first of many more podiums. 🇮🇳

My previous post was about an all-time favourite dance track. And this one, Musafir Hoon Yaaron, is my all-time favourite song. Period. I’ve attached a post I made in ‘21, which explains why it’s echoed in my head for decades. Srinivas’ mesmerising rendition tells us that music itself is a ‘musafir’ with no fixed home or address. It’s a powerful binding force for this huge and diverse country. Needless to say, one other reason the song has continued to resonate with me: it’s a fitting anthem for our company, whose very purpose is to promote mobility! Video courtesy Gabbar
