I'm at #COP15 in Montreal and it's really down to the wire now. Time is running out. We need an ambitious #GlobalBiodiversityFramework. When we work #ForNature we work for humanity. CBD COP15 UN Biodiversity UN Environment Programme

As we head towards #COP28 it is clear that #ClimateAction must be far far more rapid, economy-wide &amp; in pursuit of low-carbon development transformations. Sustainable. Just. Inclusive. This must be the future #ForPeopleForPlanet.

We need to see how stuff we see today as "waste", is tomorrow seen as valuable material. This, in essence is the challenge before us as we seek to #BeatPlasticPollution. Great to see entrepreneurs in Kenya🇰🇪 innovate on #circularity to tackle plastic pollution.

#COP16Colombia has delivered. On nature, climate, health and on marine areas. An agreement to give a stronger voice to Indigenous Peoples, to Afro-descendants. And an agreement on a new Digital Sequence Information Fund. But critical tasks lie ahead. Implementation cannot wait.

This #WorldEnvironmentDay we are calling on everyone to #BeatPlasticPollution. Recycling isn't the magic bullet. Change across the whole plastic lifecycle is critical. Keep plastic in the economy &amp; out of our ecosystems. Join the global movement!

1000 days ago the world agreed to #BeatPlasticPollution at #UNEA5. Today #INC5 begins. We must now nail the text of the #PlasticsTreaty to protect our environment, our health and our future. Now is the time for a deal. We do not have another 1000 days to wait.

🌍 is a blue planet. And as climate impacts grow ever more extreme we must protect water, our most valuable resource. Today at #COP29 the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action was launched to strengthen water action within the global climate agenda.

The first-ever State of the World's Migratory Species report launched at #CMSCOP14 is a worrying read - and one we must react to. ➡️44% of migratory species are showing population declines ➡️22% of are threatened with extinction My remarks to media:

We all want to #BeatPlasticPollution...but how do we get there? At #INC4 I spoke to Ben Von Wong, the artist behind the plastic tap installation. Art can be a powerful, inclusive force for good &amp; as Ben says, it leads us to have different conversations that can inspire action.

#PlanetVsPlastics. That is a reality we will face unless we act. This year #EarthDay falls as #INC4 #PlasticsTreaty talks begin in Ottawa. We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to profoundly change our relationship with plastics. We cannot waste it.

Negotiations at #COP16Colombia have reached the halfway point. Here in Cali at this 'People's COP' we need to see progress on turning Global Biodiversity Framework commitments into real, tangible action. Lots of work ahead, but together, we can make #PeaceWithNature.

Nature knows no borders. Migratory species reinforce this, uniting us all as they travel across the world. Yet so many are at risk of becoming extinct. At opening of #CMSCOP14 my message is simple: we must all work together before they are lost for good:
