My famous wig snatch clip that got over 500 million views is the best thing that ever happened to me. Because I knew it would age perfectly, just as planned. My fans at the time knew it was fake because they had spent the prior weeks watching me shave my head and showcase myself looking as ugly as possible while I documented myself getting a hair transplant. Then I planned to wear a jester wig and farm outrage and ridicule to go viral while I recovered from my hair transplant and let my hair grow back. My hair has now grown back, I’ve stopped wearing the wig, and people are slowly realizing that the clip wasn’t the brutal character assassination that it initially appeared as. In fact, many people are even mistaking my real hair for a wig now. As someone deeply interested in psychology, it was an experiment on the nature of social media and how easy it is to deliberately exploit human psychology for controversy and virality. I’m not sure if I plan to do it again. It’s truly sad how much social media favors outrage, controversy, and ragebait. It’s not the type of content I like making, but it was an interesting and effective experiment, alongside my “hatred of women and extreme confrontation” scripted clips, which I will make a separate post about.
