British POW Victor Gregg, interviewed at 95 on the 70th anniversary of the Dresden bombing, calls the raid “pure evil.” Held in the city when Allied planes hit it, he describes a firestorm of incendiaries and high explosives, civilians burning in the streets, and a friend killed beside him. Nothing in six years of war prepared him for women and children on fire. He says it left him unable to laugh for 40 years. He doesn’t blame the aircrews, but says he will never forgive those who ordered the raids, Churchill and Attlee included, because it was done in the Allies’ name.

Ive been saying for the past 2 years if the revolution was going to start anywhere it would be Northern Ireland.
