What do you mean, “you cannot have your daughter in jail”? Yakone was a criminal who was sent to prison by Team Avatar for using bloodbending. The Red Lotus were jailed. I could mention so many criminals who were sent to prison by Team Avatar for the bad things they did. At this point, you can see that the corruption was within Team Avatar itself. Their regime was heavily surrounded by corruption. Korra had to deal with all of that in book1

It’s funny how some of you clearly didn’t watch #NATLA #ATLA and #TLOK. There are so many details that connect across the series. Aang wasn’t even a master earthbender at that point where he sensed someone behind him. In TLOK we also saw that airbenders have heightened awareness and can naturally sense danger, especially when they’re bald. So Aang sensing a spy behind him had nothing to do with seismic sense it was simply a natural airbender ability.
