Video Of The Day! Location: The Wild Horse Refuge, Craig, CO. Finding Pinyon and his fourteen companions was no small feat this morning. Currently roaming the southeastern corner of the Wild Horse Refuge, this magnificent band of fifteen is a sight to behold. Pinyon himself is a striking red and white paint who maintains a unique leadership style. The group is primarily composed of Sand Wash Basin horses, featuring a colorful array of bays, greys, sorrels, and grullas. Among the named members are Butte, Cinnamon, Kiki, Tierra, Wildflower, and Zia, who travel alongside a couple of unnamed mares. This band is defined by its incredible stamina and spirit. They cover vast distances every day and have been known to gallop over three miles just for the pure joy of the run. They are truly a beautiful representation of the wild spirit of the refuge.
