twenty two days before this video i was robbed the night before my birthday. everyone who promised me money ghosted me. i missed my own birthday dinner. i gathered my savings and bought myself a small android phone to keep myself online. i promised myself two things- i will never feel this helpless again; and i will not stop dancing. i had orders to send out yet i could not stop thinking about how much i lost that night. i started spiraling. so, i put on makeup and a random dj mix and my fav crochet top and started dancing. i just knew that no condition was permanent, so why should it affect my joy? six of those orders were going to canada. i was making steady cash so i knew i was going to be okay. and i am, because i can still dance. it’s therapy and i’m enjoying it. anjola, if you give up, if you stop dancing, you’ll lose the joy of being alive. don’t give up 🫵🏽
