Really scary scene right now at Citi Field. Jared Young is in the process of being carted off after accidentally being struck full force in the head by Nolan McLean on this play. He appeared to be out cold for a moment following the play.

Francisco Lindor just saved the game for the Mets with one of the best plays we've seen from him in a while. And he was fired up. So was Jefry Yan.

A.J. Ewing just set a record for stolen bases by a Mets rookie, with 25. 1. Ewing, 25 (2026) 2. Mookie Wilson, 24 (1981) 3-t. Carson Benge, 22 (2026) 3-t. Lee Mazzilli, 22 (1977) 5. Gregg Jefferies, 21 (1989)

Here's another look at that potential double play ball that Francisco Lindor was not in position to turn:

Francisco Lindor has an error in three consecutive games. He nearly had another one earlier today. Lindor has five errors in 17 games since returning from the injured list.

Kodai Senga's first three batters back in the Majors: -Walk -Walk -Three-run homer

Another mistake from Francisco Lindor, whose decision not to charge this ball allowed Teoscar Hernandez to hustle down the line with an infield hit. The Dodgers are now rallying in the eighth.

Here's one you don't see every day! Mark Vientos dropped a foul pop-up. Fans booed. One batter later, Mark Vientos caught an almost identical pop. Fans mock cheered. So Vientos took the opportunity to fire them up a little.

Mark Vientos is having a tough game at first base. In addition to being unable to corral a Nolan McLean pickoff throw in the first inning, resulting in an unearned run, Vientos was eaten up by this ball in the fifth.

With Francisco Alvarez behind the plate, Jonathan Pintaro just threw two wild pitches in a three-pitch span, plating two runs. Don't see that one every day.

Coby Mayo just hit a go-ahead, 11th-inning, inside-the-park home run on a ball that A.J. Ewing nearly caught. This game is drunk.

In one final appearance for the Mets this afternoon, Brooks Raley retired the side on eight pitches -- seven strikes. He will be elsewhere by tomorrow evening.

Another fantastic diving catch from National League Rookie of the Year candidate Carson Benge.

Bo Bichette's arm strength on this play: 86.3 mph. That matches his hardest throw from shortstop all of last season.

Carson Benge with another three-hit night. He has four multi-hit games in his last five tries and 11 total hits over that stretch. Since April 23, Benge is batting .305 over a stretch of 105 games.

Another exhibit for Carson Benge's Rookie of the Year case:

Another ninth-inning rally for the Mets, who tie today's game on a one-out Jared Young RBI single.

Heading into this afternoon, Ronny Mauricio had one big league home run over the last 13-plus months. He has two today -- one from each side of the plate.

Francisco Lindor now has 156 homers as a Met. He recently passed Dave Kingman for sixth on the all-time list: 1. Alonso, 264 2. Strawberry, 252 3. Wright, 242 4. Piazza, 220 5. Johnson, 192 Lindor must average ≈ 22 per year through his contract to become the franchise HR king.

Pete Alonso just demolished his 300th career homer, 414 feet off Kodai Senga. "Pete Alonso!" chants broke out immediately at Citi Field, and Alonso gave a curtain call... in a visiting ballpark.

Back by popular demand... the Mets.

Carson Benge just became the 18th rookie in Major League history -- and the first Met -- to post a 20-20 season. It's an impressive list, including names like names like Bobby Witt Jr., Mike Trout and Carlos Beltrán.

Brett Baty, grand slam. Second of his career. The Mets are smashing the Rangers' playoff hopes, playing spoiler in a significant way.

Another day, same Mets. Juan Soto and A.J. Ewing just turned this routine George Springer base hit into a Little League home run.

While effusive in their own love for Pete Alonso, some Mets were surprised by how fans seemed to root against the team at points tonight. "I've just never seen anything like that before," Sean Manaea said, a night after Lindor said he wished fans had supported Jonah Tong more.

This Mets-Nationals game is BONKERS, and it's only the second inning. James Wood just hit an inside-the-park grand slam off Nick Morabito's glove. Can't say I've ever seen that one before.

Credit where it's due: in the ninth inning of a losing game in a lost season, Carson Benge just sprinted an elite 30.2 feet/second in a failed attempt to beat out an infield hit. Not everyone would hustle in that spot. Benge did.

Well isn't this a fitting way for the first half to end. Devin Williams just blew his second consecutive save for the Mets, spoiling Zach Thornton's much-deserved first career victory. Francisco Lindor also played a role with a fielding error on a play that could have ended it.

Francisco Lindor, three-run homer. The Mets, who have a chance to play spoiler against lots of teams down the stretch, are on the verge of a three-game series sweep of the contending Guardians.

Not to pile on at a difficult time, but this is not what run prevention is supposed to look like.

Cody Bellinger just put a sizeable dent in Nolan McLean's long-shot Rookie of the Year bid. McLean had gone five consecutive starts allowing two or fewer runs. He's given up four already today, through two innings.

Kodai Senga looked dominant in the first inning tonight, hitting 99 mph and striking out a pair. In the second inning, Senga walked two batters (including one with the bases loaded), hit another and allowed five runs. He was subsequently booed off the mound.

The Mets tested Kodai Senga this afternoon, pitching him on back-to-back days -- as closers do -- for the first time in his career. The result was a walk-off homer.

Francisco Lindor just committed his seventh error in 32 games since returning from the injured list on June 24. Among big leaguers at any position, only Trea Turner has more errors over that stretch.

Extremely aggressive send here with no outs in extra innings, on what would have been the game-tying run. Francisco Lindor got popped in the face pretty good on a play at the plate, with his head perhaps banging the ground as well.

Shades of Luis Castillo... Bo Bichette just dropped a pop-up as a nightmare inning for the Mets continues.

With 2 HR and 6 RBI tonight, Francisco Lindor: -Tied Hall of Famer Carlos Beltrán for the seventh-most homers (149) in franchise history. -Passed Brandon Nimmo and tied Keith Hernandez for the 11th-most RBI (468) in franchise history.

Psychopath.

Luis Torrens (.721) now has a higher season OPS than Francisco Alvarez (.715).
