I forgot how dirty Max Scherzer was done one pitch away from a perfect game. If this was done in the college world series I think Jose Tabata would have been banned for life

Ken Griffey Jr. and Gary Sheffield admire the final swing of Ronald Acuña Jr.’s round which produced an absolute tape measure shot.

Absolutely electric stuff for Scottish Heritage/Tartan Army night at loanDepot park. Even routine fly outs in the first inning are getting a ton a love. We should be in for a fun one.

The Cubs brought Billy Hamilton in to be a potential pinch run option on the postseason squad. Safe to say the legs are still there. They've been pinch running him in Triple-A games to get the legs going again. 3 for 3 so far. Here's two of them on two straight pitches.

Robinson Cano in 68 Mexican League games this year... .446/.490/.674, 14 HR, 37 XBH, 68 RBI

Fernando Tatis Jr. just struggled through the worst month of his career. He has yet to pull a fastball in the air. He tinkers as much as any hitter in the game, which we saw throughout a successful year in 2025. So what’s his best foot forward in 2026?

Look at Gunnar go man

I think the most stark difference is 2021 vs 2026. As I detailed in the piece, ‘21 was the last time we saw him with consistently the same mechanics and those mechanics were his best. You can really see the difference in the lower half here and why he’s struggling to pull.

Good morning, here's Hanley Ramirez hitting a 113 MPH homer at 14 degrees.

George Lombard Jr. is off to a ridiculous start to the season at Double-A, going 13 for 28 (.464) with 2 HR and 7 XBH already, but the most ridiculous stat may be in the swing decision department. Lombard has seen 65 pitches outside of the zone so far and has swung at just one.

Had a blast talking hitting (and a little bit of catching) with Samuel Basallo. The offensive improvements are clear and it was awesome to hear the adjustments broken down from the man himself.

I know it's early, but the captivating Yohendrick Piñango is 10 for 26 (.400) to start his big league career with only three strikeouts.

This Jesus Made swing is absurd. Two strikes bases, loaded and he clears them with a triple on a swing that produces a flare for most hitters.

Some absurd Jacob Wilson stats. 1. He has swung at 234 pitches in the zone this season, making contact with 223 of them. 2. He has more games with 4 hits (7) than 0 hits (4) 3. He has more games with 4+ RBI (3) than 2 strikeouts (2) 4. He is hitting over .400 vs. all pitch types

Jazz Chisholm has third base stolen easily on the first pitch of the at bat, Avisail Garcia inexplicably swings and pops it up. Jazz passes third base then turns back around and does not retouch the bag. Double play, inning over. Microcosm of how things are going for the Fish.

Marlins OF prospect Cam Cannarella ripped through High-A (159 wRC+) and he has been better at Double-A. He launched his third homer in 18 games today, sporting a 1.022 OPS. 12 BB compared to 8 Ks. Unconventional swing that results in a lot of inside out, but he pulled this one.

Cubs catcher prospect Owen Ayers is on another planet right now. In his last 10 games at AA, he is 24 for 40 (.600), with 12 XBH. 1.752 OPS. Now up to a 188 wRC+ this year. He has also thrown out 35% of attempted base stealers. 19th rounder in '24. Another Cubs scouting W.

Can really appreciate how unique the angle Nolan McLean creates which paired with his ability to spin it is just a tough look for hitters. Here’s the double play he got Maikel Garcia to ground into.

Pete Crow-Armstrong already won coldest home run of 2024. It’s over. Nothing else will compare. Dude gets thrown at twice by a 10 year big leaguer, his manager gets tossed in his defense, then PCA sends the next pitch 400 feet at 110.

Jesus Made...WOW. Second homer of the night is a rocket grand slam that looked like a gapper off of the bat but just defied gravity. 5 for 5 with 7 RBI. This kid is ridiculous. His first homer was a comical swing as well (next tweet). This one was 109 MPH at 15 degrees.

Ramon DeJesus just ejected THREE Rangers between innings. Bro is about to call in a UAV

Maybe I’m being a curmudgeon but Lindor being mic’d up mid game with his wife and the broadcast booth is absolutely INSANE to me

Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Trout talking hitting is like Mozart and Beethoven chopping it up about composing music.

I know the Rule 5 Draft is typically an environment for pitchers and premium defenders, but if I was a team with a 40 spot, I would take a shot on OF Yohendrick Piñango. He's a data darling and the bat speed is ridiculous. EV90 of 109 MPH, 50% hard hit, 21% chase, 80% contact.

Barry Bonds talking hitting with Luis Arraez. Wish I could run upstairs and turn off the stadium music, don’t they know they’re drowning out gold?!

Dodgers prospect Charles Davalan's last 25 High-A games: .406/.483/.871, 11 HR, 23 XBH, 11 BB, 10 K (!!) Once a dude is homering more than he is K'ing over a 116 PA sample, it's probably time to send him to Double-A.

Absolutely insane throw by Joe Mack on a double steal last night. Initially looked to third, saw the runner was almost there and threw a seed flat footed to second base.

Sebastian Walcott is slugging big time and the mechanical adjustments back it. More vertical bat angle, staying coiled over his back leg longer as he strides and hands in a far more powerful position at foot strike. Average LA is up 5.5 degrees, EV90 up 3.5 MPH, air pull up.

Kumar Rocker was looking free and easy on Friday. Now has tossed 7 IP scoreless in AA as he builds back from TJ. Averaged 98.5 mph, touched 100 mph. Four seam played well at the top, two-seam had late run to tie up righties. Slider is wipeout. 70% strike rate since returning.

Josiah Hartshorn is ridiculous. 5th HR in his last 10 games. He's a switch-hitting 19-year-old who is running a contact rate of 80%, chase rate of 19% and an EV90 of 105 MPH. Currently No. 63 overall for Just Baseball, but safe to say the arrow is pointing directly upwards.

This might be one of the best value returns of the deadline by the Cardinals. Alexander Frias has huge upside, destroying the Complex on his way to Low-A at 18. Ragsdale has broken out big time. Improved contact point has helped him cut GB% by 22%. Exciting power/speed combo.

Arjun Nimmala's operation is simple but explosive. The quality of contact leap this year is eye-popping. Avg EV: 88.5➡️91.4 EV90: 103.8➡️108 Hard Hit: 39%➡️50% Still just 20 years old for the entire season and is settling into AA. Poised to climb on our top 100 update.

Miguel Sime Jr. strikes out JJ Wetherholt with a nasty sequence. 91 MPH slider, then a 101 MPH fastball by him.

This sequence from Jacob Misiorowski to Deyvison De Los Santos 🤮🤮 99 mph heater, 87 mph breaking ball. I feel like he’s handing me the baseball and I’m five rows behind home.

Two HR for Arjun Nimmala last night including this go-ahead shot in the 9th. He's really rounding into the form that will likely make him a quality big leaguer. Whiff will be there, but he's hitting the ball harder than ever (EV90 108), elevating and cut chase to 18% this year.
