Its name, 'Laja,' derives from a type of flat sedimentary rock, akin to floor tiles, prevalent in the Andes Mountains. Incorporated seamlessly into the rock face of the steep gorge, the sanctuary ascends 100 meters from the canyon's base, with a bridge extending 50 meters across the ravine to connect it to the other side.
