One of the core ideas of this new tool is to treat colors as intentions. You don't need to worry about weirdly shaped gamuts. Just set your intention, and the tool handles the rest. Even when you switch to P3 😎

So... I've made a physical OKHSL/OKLCH color picker for Figma because why not 😅

Built this app for myself and regularly use it to explain color spaces visually. It also comes in handy and saves a ton of time when I want to take screenshots.

Color wheel depends on the color space. So the next time you see a harmony rule like complementary/triadic/etc, ask about the color space 🙃 HSL ≠ OKLCH ≠ LCH

Ok, I've finally managed to render the limits of visible light in 3D (learned a ton). And it's even matches the render by Bruce Lindbloom. But I still have no idea how to align it with other color gamuts 😬

I wanted to visualize color spaces so badly that the first version of Hueplot worked simply on divs. I used CSS as a 3D engine, and no canvas or SVG was used Still can't believe it worked, what a dumb idea 😅

What if we could edit our gradients right inside the color space? The dashed line is the intended path, and the solid line is how it's mapped to the sRGB gamut. In LCH/OKLCH gradients it's easy to fall out of sRGB, even if starting points are valid colors.
