I knew I had to do it when I watched it! Zombie Spear vs a Lion pride, but with accurate Lion sounds. I dunno, man, I think real Lions sound plenty scary as they are. There's something unsettling about their "breath growls", like a primal (heh) fear. Loved the episode tho!

Absolutely no, they weren't lol In fact, I'll give you the order of each sound here: - Lion. - Tiger. - Tiger + F16 -Lion. -Tiger. - Elephant + Lion. - Tiger. - Lion. - Tiger. I dunno where this myth came from. But I'm pretty sure none of Frank's Material was used. Not even in storyboards.

For a sequence about being stalked by small pack hunters, I'd personally reference Avatar. Say what you will about the movie (I'm probably there with you), but I think this is a great example of creating tension using realistic animal behavior: It's at night, mostly using handheld cam to create the feeling of raw intensity and insecurity, and the Viperwolves act like pack hunters would. They don't inmediately swarm Jake, they stalk him. They spread out, a few ahead, constantly communicating with the other members, trying to find weaknesses and openings. It's only when they surround him that 1 decides to finally lunge, and even then, only 1 other tries to bite him when his back is turned. They progressively get bolder, with more members attacking and retreating. It feels real even though these are alien monkey-wolves.

One thing I've noticed is that, so far, it seems like PhP Ice Age is one of the best productions to capture the look of CG Elephants photorealistically. Documentary, blockbuster, etc.. They are very complex animals, from their wrinkles, skin folds and ears to their trunk. They are often slow-moving and "elegant" (heh), but also "unpredictable" in their aforementioned details. Which is why I often find something looking off even in high-budgeted productions. The trunk is too "controlled" and doesn't have the pendulum behavior, the ears are too static and not well simulated, the limbs are too bent when standing and don't "lock in" properly. I see a few of those details here, but it's definitely getting there!

- An anime/anime-styled fantasy adventure epic with teens unlocking superpowers via their relationship with dinosaurs. - An educational coming-of-age doc following a dinosaur from birth to death. Good visuals, narrative, narration and music. - Another excuse to make/use these:

Honestly, I never had anything against this scene. Sometimes a physically weak predator that is good at projecting confidence can scare off a large one temporarily. I know it's different in that the people here don't harrass the lions, but it's a similar principle imo (Cred: Human Planet).
