Does anyone remember the game Dark Void? You played a 1930s pilot trapped in a parallel universe after flying through the Bermuda Triangle, fighting aliens with a jetpack and high-jacking UFOs mid-air. It was janky and far from perfect, but man... it was an absolute blast.

People who reduce Red Dead Redemption 2 to slowly opening drawers are pissing me off. It's one of the greatest life sims ever. Where else can you ignore the story for a week just to camp, stargaze, fish, and hunt in the wild and still have a blast? It's a masterpiece.

Nothing will ever match the sheer hype of the first Assassin's Creed cliffhanger ending. Touching the Apple of Eden and watching a massive holographic map of the world light up with other artifacts was absolute cinema. My 12 year old brain could not handle it.

Assassin's Creed 3 combat was criminally easy, but I don't care. Connor Kenway hacking through Redcoats with a tomahawk, dual-countering two guys at once, and yanking soldiers off their feet with the rope dart is still the absolute peak of the franchise. Unmatched sauce.

Nothing quite matched the dopamine hit of triggering a blackout in Watch Dogs. Watching the entire city skyline go pitch black in a second, traffic lights failing, and people panicking? It was the coolest mechanic ever and it literally never got old.

People call Red Dead Redemption 2 "boring" because they have to eat a stew and brush a horse. Gameplay is more than just mindless shooting, but since some of y'all have the attention span of a goldfish and need flashing lights to stay awake, here's a minute of shootouts.

Everyone talks about Chronos or Poseidon for epic scale, but the Kraken at the end of God of War: Ascension is super underrated. You're literally fighting a mutated sea monster the size of a skyscraper mid-storm while the world crumbles around you. Insane stuff.

Prague in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is still the gold standard for small open worlds. No giant map full of empty space, just pure density. Every alley hides a story, every door leads somewhere, every NPC has a life. Proof that bigger isn't always better.

People think early Kratos was just mindless rage, but the original God of War had a sequence where you fight evil clones of him to protect his family. The only way to heal his wife and daughter? Literally HUGGING them, draining his own life to save theirs.

Just found an old 1998 E3 interview showing an early, never released build of Prey, and my mind is completely blown. They were showcasing seamless, real-time portal tech a full NINE YEARS before Portal came out. Looks like straight-up witchcraft.

The Clockwork Mansion in Dishonored 2 is hands down one of the greatest levels ever designed. Pulling a lever and watching the architecture shift, gear by gear, and reconfigure around you in real-time is pure wizardry. Arkane was flexing so hard with this one.

Ravenholm in Half-Life 2 is still goated game design. By starving you of ammo, it forces you to use the Gravity Gun. Suddenly, every sawblade, radiator, and propane tank is a weapon. It teaches experimentation without ever pausing to explain it. Brilliant stuff.
