Males will leave the pride as soon as they are around 2 years so that they won't mate with their mothers or sisters. In those breeding centers however, they'll mate siblings and mothers/fathers with their direct offsprings. With time, you get lions with different malformations like this.

I think with time, people will learn that surgeries aren't dangerous if they are done by professionals. Here is me after my dental implant surgery, this morning. If you see me now, you won't know.
