The 🇵🇰 Faisal Mosque’s fountain area has been turned into a swimming pool, allowing citizens to use it for recreation. This raises a bigger question than the activity itself, who is responsible for protecting the sanctity, discipline and dignity of one of Pakistan’s most important places of worship? A mosque should not gradually become a recreational venue simply because supervision is weak. Respect for places of worship is a collective responsibility, but administration must ensure that clear boundaries are maintained.
