🗣️ Israeli Knesset member Ofer Cassif עופר כסיף عوفر كسيف tells Nour Odeh 🇵🇸🍉 #FreePalestine the attacks on Palestinians by settlers and soldiers is “STATE TERRORISM”. It’s rare to hear a sitting Israeli lawmaker say this out loud. Most politicians either deny it or try to justify it with euphemisms.

BREAKING: Masked settlers beat an NBC News crew in the occupied West Bank Saturday, minutes after the team interviewed a family driven from their home. 4 days earlier they beat an AFP team in front of Israeli soldiers. 2 crews. 5 days. No arrests. They knew they were on camera.

Israeli impunity and flagrant disregard of the rule of law leads to massive wildfires in Greece. Greek authorities arrested a 35-year-old Israeli tourist in Crete over the weekend, accusing him of sparking a wildfire that forced emergency evacuations, after he and a group of fellow Israelis lit a barbecue at their rental villa in defiance of an active fire ban. The fire broke out Friday evening near the village of Sellia, close to the resort town of Plakias in southern Rethymno. Greek fire investigators say it started in the yard of the villa where the tourists were staying. The villa’s owner had told them when they arrived that grilling was banned because of the fire risk. They lit the grill anyway.

🦩 Why are thousands of young Albanians suddenly flooding the streets? 🦩Why has Albania’s anti-corruption agency frozen accounts linked to Jared Kushner’s planned luxury development on protected coastline land? 🦩Why is one of the most strategically sensitive islands in the Balkans being turned into a billionaire enclave tied to offshore shell companies and foreign political networks? 🦩And why does a former military fortress sitting at the gateway between the Adriatic and Mediterranean suddenly matter to global elites? For centuries, empires fought to control Sazan Island. Now protesters are asking why Albania’s public land, coastline, and strategic territory are being handed over behind closed doors. This is about who gets to decide the future of Albania.

Trump did in one sentence what a hundred State Department briefings had spent weeks trying not to say: the campaign to gut the ICC isn’t about sovereignty, it’s about Bibi. Rubio stood at Camp David and dressed the whole thing up in the language of American self-defense, arrogant judges, illegitimate overreach, a court coming for soldiers who never signed up for its jurisdiction. Then the president, almost bored, waved it away and told everyone what it actually was. A tribunal built to try the people who order war crimes is being dismantled, brick by brick, to keep one man off its docket. And the closest thing to honesty in the whole affair came from the one person who wasn’t even trying to be honest. Somewhere in The Hague, the warrant is still sitting there, unenforceable, un-embarrassed, waiting for a world that still believes in it. 🤷🏽♂️

🚨 The Washington Post’s Press Freedom Desk put out a video on the growing threats to press freedom. It includes a photo of me. It somehow finds no room for Israel, or the 250 journalists it has killed in Gaza. Committee to Protect Journalists’s own data shows why this is inexcusable: 2025 was the deadliest year for journalists on record, and Israel was responsible for two-thirds of all journalist deaths worldwide. CPJ has said Israel has now killed more journalists than any government since it began collecting data in 1992. So why did the Post leave it out?

“This is a disastrous World Cup. As professional players, we cannot play a competition under these conditions; it’s neither right nor fair. If FIFA thinks this is fair, that’s on them, but it isn’t. Who should solve this problem for us? FIFA? The U.S.? I don’t know! Tell me a name. The FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, came to our locker room after the first match against New Zealand and said he was going to resolve all the issues, but in reality, FIFA did nothing. In response to the question: ‘Do you feel that the World Cup organizers, including FIFA and U.S. officials, prefer for Iran to be eliminated from the competition?’, I say: We have to fight against absolutely everything. We can’t stay in the country, we travel and undergo immigration checks every time we want to play, now we can’t stay in Seattle and have to return to Tijuana. They’ve done everything possible to eliminate us, so from our perspective, yes, I think that’s what they want, they want us out.” — Iran’s captain Mehdi Taremi
