What is missing from this debate, in every country where they have tried to pass this legislation, is the buyers. We don’t hear from them, we don’t see them. We don’t see them out giving newspaper articles, talking about their ‘right to buy sex’. The reason that we don’t is that if you listen to the way they talk about women, that is the best advert for criminalising them that you will ever, ever hear.

The Supreme Court ruling provided 88 pages of clarity and EHRC interim guidance now summarises the application of that clarity. Unless we now need a picture book edition, the delays and excuses have hit the wall of clarity and reality. Get male prisoners out of the female estate now. Uphold single-sex spaces, services and sports protections now. Word salad won't cut it - this is the time for deeds. #WomenAreWaiting

“I sacrificed the claimed comforts of Ministerial Office on a matter of principle over the Gender Recognition Bill —like you I cannot and will not compromise on the rights or safety of women and girls. “I’m joining ALBA on principle also: that #Independence cannot be a carrot deployed only to attract voters, during election times. “Independence is a material commitment that I was voted in to Parliament to progress and achieve. My solemn commitment to my constituents in Edinburgh Eastern, and the trust they put in me, can now only be served by the Saltire-blue principle, of the ALBA Party.” —Ash Regan MSP, ALBA Leader at Holyrood.

Why are we funding failure? Over £1.2 million of taxpayers' money - lost on failed legal challenges. £13.4 million to one controversial organisation over ten years, while we're told the inequality it exists to tackle is getting worse. Frontline rape crisis services are struggling while sexual crime is rising. SNP Manifesto commitments, such as universal free primary school meals, remain unmet. Yet public money keeps flowing to the same bodies, with no meaningful independent evaluation, no measurable improvement, and no arms-length accountability. The public is not stupid. When services fail and outcomes worsen, the answer is not to write another cheque. The Scottish Budget must ensure value for money for the people of Scotland on their priorities. If we expect the public to trust politicians we must demonstrate effective and transparent spending that delivers results not just promises.

Talk is cheap. I look forward to Scottish Government putting their full weight behind my Unbuyable Bill to uphold their part in the UK’s international obligations on tackling violence against women and girls. Or will First Minister dare justify ‘progressive’ Scotland’s continuation as a Pimp State. #PimpState

The evidence is clear: if we want to protect victims of exploitation and to disrupt sex trafficking networks, Scotland must strengthen our laws to tackle the root cause - male demand to buy sex. My Unbuyable bill provides a necessary first step in combating the scourge of male violence against women, by criminalising those who treat women and children as sexual products for sale and review. #16DaysOfActivism
