Students of Dhaka University’s Sgt Jahurul Haq Hall designed their own Victory Day banner and hung it at the gate. If you want to understand why this kangaroo court’s verdict holds no real credibility, just look at the behavior of the state-appointed lawyer. The man keeps smiling in a way that makes it clear he takes none of this seriously. When a journalist asked him why he was smiling, he suddenly stiffened his face and stared back in silence. Former U.S. ambassadors to Dhaka, William B. Milam and Jon Danilowicz, met with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Mohammad Tazul Islam, today. In this video report by The The Daily Star, Tazul mentioned that they are said to be representatives of a U.S.-based think tank. Allegedly, they visited to learn about the tribunal's judicial proceedings and expressed their desire to provide full support to the tribunal in its activities. Frankly, I am somewhat confused about whether to laugh or cry. Tazul Islam claimed that someone as biased as Jon Danilowicz was presented as a neutral observer.
