today at @nianticspatial we're launching the Places Library: 100 real environments to train robots in, with even more coming soon. warehouse, last mile, residential, and more. every one a simulation-ready USDZ. start here, then capture the sites you actually deploy into.

with scaniverse you can also use 360° drones to capture large area scans and process those through our 360° pipeline to generate high-fidelity gaussian splats. this was captured on an Antigravity A1 drone. powered by @nianticspatial

for physical AI to work in the real world, it needs high-fidelity 3D models of the real world. not just for visualization — for localization, spatial reasoning, and real-to-sim workflows that close the gap between training and deployment. at Niantic Spatial 🌎, we're turning Spexi drone imagery into exactly that — city-scale Gaussian splats grounded in the environments that matter most.

at Niantic Spatial 🌎, we're building the real-world model for physical AI. we believe the next generation of AI will move beyond the screen, into real-world environments where some of the hardest problems need to be solved. with high-fidelity gaussian splats as the foundation – robots, AI agents, & autonomous systems can see, localize, understand, & operate in the environments that matter most.

another high-fidelity gaussian splat i took recently. 2 mins scan with 360° camera. in the splat we simulate how VPS localizes robots to the real world, mirroring the 360° video of the robot navigating in the physical location. powered by @nianticspatial.

my colleague david hollin built a demo that simulates how robots can localize where they are in the real world while navigating. this high-fidelity gaussian splat at mount tamalpais was captured in just a few minutes with an insta 360° x5. powered by: @nianticspatial

our AI sidekick Niantic Spatial 🌎 just got much more powerful. 🔥 meet, Dot, a true wayfinding companion that can now navigate between spaces via VPS & have a conversation with you thanks to Hume AI. showcased alongside our partners Snap Inc. on their @Spectacles AR glasses. 🧵👇

imagine a world where geospatial AI, VPS, and AR glasses meet. we’re actively exploring the magic of what that looks like with Dots as spatially intelligent agents for navigation. cc: Spectacles Peridot Niantic Spatial 🌎 ICYMI, we also announced our multi-year strategic partnership, including an investment from Snap Inc., to build the next-gen AI-powered map of the real world.

Physical AI for defense and intelligence starts with an accurate model of the world – high-fidelity, geometrically grounded, built for the environments where it actually matters. Today, Niantic Spatial 🌎 is awardable on the Department of War 🇺🇸’s Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace for 3D Reconstruction, our second capability to clear that bar after Visual Positioning, announced earlier this month. Together they deliver two critical layers of the spatial stack: high-fidelity 3D models of contested environments, and precise location within them; a foundation for mission-critical operations that need to visualize and navigate the physical world. The capability is ready. The procurement path is open.

the fact you can just stitch together perception for AI is wild 🔥 😎 sight via Snap Inc. Spectacles AR glasses 🌎 a sense of place via Niantic Spatial 🌎's map 🧠 consciousness via Liquid City’s AI brain watch the magic happen with @PlayPeridot's spatially intelligent companion.

i’m very bullish on the impact technology, and even more specifically, XR, can have in the healthcare space. just over a year ago we announced a partnership between Niantic Spatial 🌎 and Augment Therapy to explore how we can make physical rehabilitation feel more like play. after a year of prototyping, we’ve shipped half a dozen therapeutic games inspired by Peridot that target everything from physical activation to cognitive engagement and executive function. the impact is already clear: patients are enjoying their therapy. we're seeing them stay engaged for hours, not minutes, because the repetitive, often arduous exercise fades into the background and becomes genuinely fun. looking ahead, i’m most excited to see how our geospatial AI can take this to the next level. can we turn any space – a hospital play zone, a park – into a therapeutic space? our VPS can make that possible. i’m confident immersive tech’s true impact goes far beyond just entertainment.
