📌Today’s Office: Kampala Northern Bypass: This morning, I watched school children and pedestrians confidently use the footbridge along the Northern Bypass, [Kyebando-Bukoto stretch], no worry of car crash risks!! Now this is what urban infrastructure should do; separate people from high-speed traffic, reduce conflict points, and protect vulnerable road users!!! We can therefore say this engineering solution did not only provide for vehicular traffic but also pedestrian safety! Let protect this very vital asset! Government of Uganda , the European Union and the Contractor Mota Engil delivered on this one!🤙🏾 #RoadSafetyUg Ministry of Works & Transport

At Mabira! Frame one — With Afande Owora, the OC Traffic Mabira in front of a specialized machine called the pulverizer! Its role is to reprocess the existing asphalt by breaking it down, mixing it with the underlying base materials. This then creates a stabilized base layer, which enhances the road’s strength & durability. The pulverizer ensures efficient recycling of materials, reducing waste while providing a solid foundation for the new asphalt overlay. The machine is one of those deployed to support ongoing repairs in Mabira, Kampala–Jinja highway. #ConnectUg

📌Today’s Office: Mandatory Motor Vehicle Inspection Sensitization In preparation for the rollout of mandatory motor vehicle inspection, Ministry of Works & Transport is engaging key stakeholders thru a sensitization drive. The roll out is scheduled to start with Government of Uganda vehicles and for this reason, today’s engagement had Transport Officers from various Gov’t MDAs. In the session, the Commissioner for Transport Regulation & Safety Winstone Katushabe reminded Gov’t drivers to exercise caution and responsibility on the road!

YY buses on an inspection for road worthiness at the Ministry of Works & Transport Namanve Inspection Station. A comprehensive inspection covering braking systems, suspension, lights, emissions, wheel alignment etc is ongoing! The checks will confirm roadworthiness before operations resume as recently directed by Hon. Byamukama Fred , the State Minister [Transport]. Safety all the way!
