Southwest reports that while approaching BNA amid gusty wind conditions, pilots of Southwest Flight 507 executed a precautionary go-around. Chief Flight Officer at Icelandair Linda Gunnarsdóttir said in a statement, "This is just a very serious matter that we will look into here internally. It's just the case in aviation that everything is very rigid in work processes, checklists and other things like that, what we do in normal passenger flights, and it doesn't fall within that framework." Linda says she expects passengers to have been informed about the sightseeing flight, but she cannot say that yet. She is also unable to comment at this time on the consequences for the pilot, who is leaving the company. The matter is, as previously stated, under consideration by the company.

Lufthansa confirmed that three passengers suffered minor injuries during the evacuation on Monday and were transferred to a hospital in Athens for first aid treatment. A spokesperson for the airline said, "The crew of the Airbus A321, following the standard procedures, declared a state of air emergency in flight, in order to obtain priority landing clearance. CCTV is circulating on social media of the moment United Airlines 767-400 struck a truck before landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday. New Jersey State Police say the bottom of the plane and a landing gear tire collided with a light pole and a truck, while the Federal Aviation Administration were at the airport on Monday morning as part of the ongoing investigation.
