4/20/97 - The Phoenix #Coyotes finally won their first-ever playoff game, 4-1 over the Mighty Ducks to pull the series to 1-2. 16,210 fans packed America West Arena in the franchise's first Whiteout. PHX scored 3 first period goals, including two from Darrin Shannon.

11/27/22 - Following the unceremonious release of Herm Edwards, he #ASU Sun Devils announced the hiring of 32-year-old Oregon OC and ASU grad, Kenny Dillingham as head coach of football, youngest in program hist. "Make it okay to be a champion here, and we're about to." #ForksUp

3/31/2001 - Leading by 2p at halftime against defending National Champs Michigan State, #UA outscored MSU by 17p en route to a 80-61 win in the Final Four and the school's 2nd National Championship game in 5yrs. Jason Gardner led with 21p while Gilbert Arenas had 12p/7a. #BearDown

6/4/89 - Phoenix hosted Formula One for the 1st time, a 3-day event culminating in the Iceberg PHX Grand Prix which Frenchman Alain Prost won by 39.696 over Italian Riccardo Patrese. 31,441 watched live, The 81-lap race ended at 75 because of the mandatory 2hr limit (2:1:33.133).

2/25/23 - Following an inexplicable made FT by Oumar Ballo w/2.9sec remaining (sent to the line despite due to terrible officiating as they missed a loose ball foul on him), Desmond Cambridge hit a 60ft game-winner at the buzzer for an 89-88 #ASU win at #7 UA. #ForksUp #BearDown

11/23/13 - #19 ASU clinched the PAC-12 South Title with a 38-33 win at #14 UCLA, ASU's 6th straight win. QB Taylor Kelly finished 20-27 for 225yds and 1TD and was the leading rusher with 99yds and 1TD as well. ASU needed to beat UA to host the PAC-12 Champ. vs Stanford. #ForksUp

3/4/22 - Minus both Chris Paul and Devin Booker, Cam Johnson led the Phoenix #Suns (51-12) w/career-highs in scoring (38p) & 3PM's (9), his final #Shazam, a buzzer-beater to cap off a dramatic comeback (down 14p late in the 3Q) to defeat the NY Knicks, 115-114.

5/4/06 - W/no Raja Bell (suspended for clothesline on Kobe) the Phoenix #Suns avoided elimination again, defeating the LA Lakers when Tim Thomas hit a 3 to tie the game in regulation before PHX hit 7 straight scoring 21p in OT to win 126-118, tying the First Round 3-3.

1/8/00 - Eddie House tied Lew Alcindor for the PAC-10's highest-individual scoring game w/61pts (shooting 18-30 from the field, 7-10 from 3, 18-19 from the charity stripe w/ 7r/3a/4s) in a 111-108 2OT #ASU win over Cal. He became the first Sun Devil with 3+ 40p games. #ForksUp

3/16/23 – The UA Wildcats became the first school in hist. to lose to a 15-seed as a 2-seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to Princeton 59-55, despite the Tigers shooting just 40% from the field 16% from 3 (making only 4 3's), and having more TOs than Assists.

1/25/97 - 21-year-old Tiger Woods nailed a hole-in-one on the Phoenix Open's 16th hole. His Saturday Ace remains the most famous and potentially loudest cheered shot in the history of the Open. Steve Jones won with a 258 (-26) winning by 11 shots. Woods finished T-18 (-9). #WMPO

9/20/98 - On the day Cal Ripken's streak ended, RB Adrian Murrell rushed for 101yds in the 4Q as the Cardinals scored 17p in the final 13min to beat the Eagles, 17-3 (Philly's FG came 40sec into the 4Q). Jake Plummer: 21-35 for 137yds. Simeon Rice: 2 sacks. (AZ, 5 total).
