RIP My Sweet Luke. May 12, 1998-August 22, 2019. Strongest person I have ever seen. My hero. You may have left this earth, but you will never leave our hearts.

I have no idea why the Cowboys were in man coverage on that final play. No idea. :07 on the clock. That said, credit a 2X MVP QB throwing a strike to a WR who was a Pro Bowler the last 2 seasons. And Lamar had over 3 seconds to throw.

This is what an inside linebacker looks like and plays like. Jaishawn Barham.

On that final throwaway, even if Dak had worked the backside, CeeDee Lamb slips and falls. So he’s throwing it away if he’s going there, too.

It was July 9, 5 years ago today, that I threw passes to Luke. 100 degrees-wanted to work on his routes. 3 days later, went into an exam room to find out he had 2-8 weeks to live. Tumors had taken over his body. How he worked so hard on this day, I will never know #LiveLikeLuke

Coach Corso. Sad, but I think they have forgotten me after Mendoza.

Tyler Guyton. I believe coaches refer to this as “finishing your block.”

60 Minutes did a segment on Curt Cignetti and Indiana Football. At the top, they showed me getting a pass knocked down vs Ohio State. (In this video.) I threw 4 TDs in that game, 3 shown here, zero INTs. I demand they show the ENTIRE GAME or I will sue for like, $16M😜

This is the Dak Prescott throwaway on the Cowboys final offensive play. 3rd-goal at 5. If he throws it to Pickens, it is going to be offensive pass interference. Once Pickens extends his arms like that, easy call to make. Didn’t get called because the ball went into the stands

Tomorrow will be 7 years since Luke died. I will be broadcasting Cowboys/Cardinals with a heavy heart. On the day he died, his friend and teammate at UTEP, Forest McKee, talked about Luke’s toughness. #LiveLikeLuke

A great example of “always turn your back to the ball carrier.” Miss your block, go to the next level. Especially WRs. When you peel back, typically get called for a block in the back or YOU make the tackle on the runner. Which happens here.

Check out Cowboys’ left guard Tyler Smith on The Great Fred Warner. You don’t see this kind of athleticism often with an O-lineman. (Apologies to that “other” 73, Larry Allen. The best I have seen, BTW)

I don’t really need to say anything here, do I? Myles Garrett wearing Luke on his cleats for “My Cause, My Cleats.” #LiveLikeLuke #BeLikeMyles

Cowboys at Seattle tomorrow night. 20 years ago, it was Tony Romo making his first ever start of the preseason in a very loud Seattle.

A relatively thin QB draft this year, but Bill Parcells’ words are as accurate today as they were when he was coaching the Cowboys

Tomorrow will be seven years since Luke died. When he was terminal, he wanted to skydive. His body was racked with tumors and I did not think it was the best idea. He responded “what’s the worst that could happen?” #LiveLikeLuke

Good stuff here by KaVontae Turpin. Always like routes that look like other routes. So he starts on the deep over, then pivots back. Ankle breaker for the DB.

Every wide receivers coach in America should show this to his players. Grade school. High school. College. NFL. Your offensive line gets you 6 yards. Your WRs get you 6 points. In addition to great players, Detroit just plays harder than other teams.

This is not a punt block call. You don’t try to block a punt with two guys rushing. Everyone setting up for a return. #45 Cincy just had a complete whiff. #41 Cowboys is just making sure punt actually gets kicked. Got free so fast he ends up blocking punt.

Coach Dana Dimel, who recruited Luke to UTEP, reflected on Luke’s passing the day Luke died, August 22, 2019.

We held our 6th annual #LiveLikeLuke coffee fundraiser. Big thanks to @AlBiernats and Tony Fay PR for their tremendous support in helping us get the event started. Even after Luke passed, kids can unknowingly brighten your day.

OK. This will appeal mainly to fly fisherpeople but first time I have hit on a dry/dropper. Which means one fly is on top of water, one trails about 18” behind it under water. A fish took my dry, then another grabbed the nymph as I was bringing in the first fish. “TWO fish on! “

A great time with Luke’s friends at our annual draft party, but at the same time, crushing.
